  1. Jim, just keep your eyes open for a diecast. I have a Diamiond T wrecker that has great spokes on it. Im pretty sure first gear makes a Mack that scale. Sometimes you can grab them cheap.
  2. I dont know definitly. Im still working on the hubs and drums. Somehow my hole pattern is off, so I had to start over. I also am going to make brake shoes.
  3. JT, do you have a thread for that 1/16 Wrecker? That thing is bad to the bone.
  4. I would try to make a custom bumper that mocks the shape of the front end. It shouldnt be too hard to bend one out of some thin brass. It would add a lot to the build. I think adding a bumper from another truck would look like just that. The time period in which this truck is from, the cars had big elaborate chrome curvy bumpers. The truck would look good the same.
  5. What a great old kit. Thats a hard one to find these days. Great score !
  6. Dennis man, this is super cool. The time spent making all these precise cuts and pieces is amazing. I cant say enough good things about this build. You definitly have a talent for building these trailers.
  7. Great job. It certainly looks authentic. The hand kinda freaked me out at first.
  8. Very cool Chuck. I like the double long painted tanks, the dual exhaust, the color, and the fact that its a daycab. The trailer looks great also. This has to be the most realistic looking trailer kit on the market. Where do you have the batteries hidden on the tractor?
  9. Thanks Jt. I built a light panel just like it on our 1:1 Pete 377.
  10. Brian, it looks like a Pumkin orange, or a butterscotch maybe. Are you going to build it with the Detroit Diesel and the heavy truck chassis? I have extra Detroits if you need it.
  11. Thanks Dennis, and Clayton, and Kenny. Im trying to get this combo finished up so I can get started on those Macks!
  12. They are just made from small hex rod. I forget what size exactly, but it was either .040 or .060.They are not exactly accurate, but they are close enough for me.
  13. Small update: I mounted the front wheels, tail light bezels installed, and release made for 5th wheel. I wasnt happy with the trailer wheels, so I bought a set of Auslowe 3 spoke wheels. I think these will fit the theme.
  14. Lots of Caterpillar powered possibilities!
  15. Excellent job Chuck. Throw a dump body on it and it looks like a friend of mines WS. Down here in Louisiana this truck would still be pulling a dump trailer and running everyday.
  16. Kind of like at the end of the Terminator, the transtar turned into a model of a Ford WT9000 when they blew it up. And the Blue Mule lost its Alcoas when they jumped it.
  17. Wow! That kit has really become a holy grail for a lot of builders. Whats going to be the donor?
  18. Which truck is this going to be? Bearfoot, Excalibur, Stomper, Taurus?
  19. It really looks awesome. Great work as usual. As with all of your builds, it looks like you could put it to work as soon as you get it off that table
