  2. Also remember using a .5mm or .7mm mechanical pencil, beveled on the end as a "Rivet Punch"... small amount of pressure onto bare-metal-foil picks up a tiny little disk of foil... and the lead point as it's placed, makes a neat little indention in the center.
  3. Hey Kerry, He and Junior did a little road-racing over in Japan a couple of times, didn't they?
  4. Wedding Veil material called "Tulle" works really well for diorama builders. The hex shaped pattern as "chicken wire" and some of the larger square patterns as chain link fencing material. Be prepared for raised eyebrows at the fabric store, though!
  5. Change the red on this to black and find yourself a few GM Goodwrench decals and... ,,,yeah, I'd watch it race Road America... or Suzuka
  6. would LOVE to have them opening if possible. During this whole thought process, it occurred to me that 3D printing could make an Extensive set of 1/25 scale hand and power tools! Also I think it could be a hit with G-Scale model railroaders too! maybe a maintenance-of-way High-Wheel unit front and back... Just a thought
  7. Hello all, Can anyone point me in the direction of a photo etching service who would take a short-run or one-off job? I have almost all of the design work done in Adobe Illustrator. I am attempting to make an opening utility bed for a modern/ recent 1/2 or 3/4 ton pickup truck. (Eventually I'd like to try a larger truck and a bucket/ ladder unit too but first things first) Any help would be greatly appreciated... Thanks, Chuck
  8. I'm just getting back into model cars but the Cookville show was always a big deal, back in the day... Hate I missed it this time but I'll be planning for it next time. Anybody going to the Birmingham show? http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=86114
  9. Wow! ... just Wow
  10. Hi Dave... just found this build today and have been dumbstruck by the pics! I had a question or two: Where is the body from? I probably missed it in the text but I was blinded by the awesome pics. Also are there any more of your 1/8th builds to be followed and ideas stolen from? GREAT WORK!
  11. Nothing ready for me to show but the vendors had better watch out! Saving my pennies for the day! Someone should design a printable MCM forum name-tag for these things so we can recognize one another... Hmmmm?!? ANYBODY ELSE? Chuck
  12. Here's the flyer... Any members gonna make it this year?
  13. thanks for the kind replies...
  14. Hello all, First post to these forums but I've lurked for a few weeks. I recently started building an honest-to-god model car again for the first time in at least 12 years, having taken time to go deep into military miniatures and an 8 year love affair with 1/32 scale slot-cars. Love the magazine and these forums... Thanks, Chuck
