  1. I'm not much of a NASCAR fan, but I really like the Gen6 cars. To me, they look more like the factory cars they repesent
  2. Hi Tom, Just out of curiosity, will this masterpiece have both a self service and full service island? I love the tile and wainscoting in the restrooms. The towel rollers really set the whole thing back in time! Looking awesome!!!
  3. Never crashed one but, when I was 16, I did sneak my dad's car out for a drive-in midnight movie. In 1979, He had a really nice low mileage '71 Chrysler Newport. The movie went okay but as I was driving it "Over The Hump" to leave, I managed to drag it on a piece of debris somebody had left behind and neatly shear off the oil filter. I made it about 3 miles before the thing screeched to a halt. not long after that it was decided that the US Army did indeed need my services as a 19D Cavalry Scout.
  4. Picked up a revell snap-tite Impala police car and I can't even bring myself to just build the dang thing... got a police computer in the works for the front seat, along with making some custom decals: maybe my wife is right (don't tell her I said that) and I should embrace the inner OCD edit: sorry for the swear
  5. Yeah I was thinking that the Orange Blossom Special was molded in orange styrine at first and the Meistrbrau tractor in yellow... either way this wagon is pretty sweet. I poured a mold tonight(first half of a 2 piece mold) for the front axle / tongue / handle and one wheel. I'll rework one copy of the front axle into a rear axle and cast an entire wagon kit in one larger mold... hopefully
  6. Awesome! Now it just needs Sigourney Weaver and some Colonial Marines climbing outa the back!
  7. Hi all, I was looking over my cluttered workbench with a sad look on my face and Wifey showed me this thing... looks like something I could make use of! https://www.spicyshelf.com/ Then I could go buy more paints and stuff cuz there'd be room for it... at least that's the way I chose to interpret it
  8. Thanks, John Is that the tractor-pull type truck? IIRC that kit was molded in yellow... I probably got in a grab bag or something, because I've never owned it. I'm missing two wheels and the rear axle but I can scratch build the axle and cast the two remaining wheels
  9. Hi all, This may not be the place to post this but... Where in the world did I get this radio flyer wagon? It's 1/24/ 1/25, molded in a pale yellow styrene and in 7 pieces. I'll try to post pics later Thanks in advance
  10. I do enjoy the part of it that lets me do a variety of things I just wish I could get something FINISHED. I think part of my problem is, to some extent, my strong desire to resin-cast these side projects. For the most part you really CAN'T finish if you're just going to break it back down to replicate them. The Guitars, the mower etc. Heck, I've even got a washer and dryer in the works... I scratch-built a pair YEARS ago and now they look just awful, LOL I originally made them to go in the bed of a pickup I had made a hydraulic lift-gate for... and, as per usual, didn't finish. I think I'm going to rule out, from the start, casting ANYTHING that doesn't get finished first. It's not like I get anything cast anyway
  11. Does this happen to anyone else? How do I get past it? Backstory... I have been building models, in one form or another since I was 12. From cars to military, back to cars, back to military, to slotcars now back to cars. I have always had a thing for accessories and, I guess the word is peripheral, items for my models. So much so in some cases that I get BIGGED down in them and loose sight of what I wanted to do in the first place. A few months ago I sold ALL (75) my slotcars with the intent to start building 1/25 cars again... I bought several kits and broke out some of my older stuff too. Started watching ALOT of YouTube videos and everything. But I got side-tracked with making 1/25 guitars (I got the "Stacy David '32 Roadster" and saw the guitar in that kit and, as usual, went overboard)I got a flathead ford built and that's as far as my car building has gotten ALL YEAR! I start these "side" projects and get into them pretty heavy, run into a snag, and instead of working thru or around the problem, move on to another "side" project. Adult A.D.D. maybe? I have never built any kit right out of the box as far back as I can remember. Been my problem for a long time. Am I alone in this, or do any other members get this was? ...to any extent? Any help or opinions would be appreciated, greatly! Thanks, Chuck
  12. Hi David, I seem to remember this being covered in an ancient "Military Modeler" magazine. IIRC the basic technique was to use clear sprue shaped, stretched and bonded with heat. I may still have this issue lying around someplace. If I can find it, I'll scan and post it for you. I also remember seeing something along the lines of using clear gelatin like some model railroaders use in making scenery waterfalls etc. I've wanted to make a 1/25 scale bikini car-wash using some of these techniques
  13. yeah, Kyle it just has that fisherman look to it... like you could stick the key in and go anywhere, any time. BTW, Where did the F250 fender badges come from?
  14. Very Nice, Chuck From the looks of things I'd say you have a bit of experience getting trucks muddy!
  15. WOW Chuck! That thing looks like it should be towing an old aluminum flat-bottom fishing boat around behind it... Fantastic work my friend!
