New Moebius Ford Pick-ups 1971 Ranger XLT AND 1969 Custom SWB
youpey replied to SteveG's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
does anyone know if this has a 6 or v8 in it? -
i have finished a monogram bronco and monogram f150 stepside, and both look like they were made from the same mold and on both i found the motors sit crooked, with the front pulled up in order to line up. i have searched on here and it seems that others have the same issue judging from pictures. does anyone know offhand of a frame or motor that would work that would end up lined up.

i just finished a monogram ford stepside pickup completely box stock. i will be honest, i am not happy with the build. the paint i chose didnt go on smoothly, the colors dont match from place to place perfectly. they arent off by a lot buy enough to bother me. Towards the end i kind of rushed it just to finish since i wasnt happy with it Just wanted to share it, it was a fun build but not my best.

liquid mask pulled up my primer

krylon satin iris http://www.amazon.com/Krylon-K05356800-Decorator-Satin-Enamel/dp/B007ZPO9Q4 i was surprised when i fell a drip on my leg while painting and look up and the work table is dripping with paint. thankfully it hit my leg and not the carpet. paint on the work table and my old shorts are OK...carpet, that would be hard to explain. NOTE: i am sure nobody cares, but i didnt get it from amazon, just the first link i found of the actual paint. -
liquid mask pulled up my primer
youpey replied to youpey's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
i think it was a reaction. i think the paint i used was not the best choice. it melted a plastic cup i was using to brush paint some stuff....ultimately i am starting over with a new paint -
i have never seen this. i was working on a tub interior, where i wanted the floor to be a slightly different color from the door panels. i liquid masked the door panels and sprayed the interior and last night when i was pulling off the mask, i found in some places the liquid mask pulled the primer off. i have never seen that before, i dont remember, but maybe i didnt wash the interior before painting.

i am looking for a small 1/24 - 1/25 scale square backed row boat...preferably metal. i had one as a kid that i put a 5hp motor on it and spend all my summers riding it on the water back and forth on the lake behind my house. i would like to put it with the kit i am working on to make a small diorama, and i dont have the skills myself to scratch build one this is similar to the one i had, but mine was not nearly as nice...mine was plugged with epoxy to keep it from leaking http://www.boatdesign.net/forums/attachments/boat-design/35112d1253163705-square-back-canoe-plans-small-boat-design-3.jpg if there are any kits that has something like this, that would be helpful too

primer looks ok to, doesnt rub off. only real issue i found is the coat of primer made it so the hood doesnt sit flat. i will probably have to do something on that thanks for the help guys

Top down, or , bottom up?

i only use spray cans too now. i have an airbrush but i prefer to use spray cans. i can always find a color i like and to me its just easier overall to not have to worry about cleaning the airbrush afterwards. that has always been my biggest complaint for painting, i start on the sides and go 360 degrees then the top last. just habit for no real reason -
SCORE!...oops...no instructions...

does goodwill normally sell models? -
i soaked the body for many hours and scrubbed again and still shiny. i am going to give it a shoot of primer and see how it goes. i dont think there is much more i could do either way
