  1. What I did was take the Deville roof from the 50 Convert and blend it in with the front half of the 49's roof and made a 2dht phantom. I plan on using a resin Vicky hardtop roof on the 50 to make a 50 Crown Vick. phantom Ford did not produce a 2drht until 51
  2. Their FB page has recent posts showing some of their stuff. I bought stuff in the past and had no issues but I am very doubtful I will be now.
  3. Is Arrowhead Aluminum back in business ? I noticed today that they have a Facebook page going .
  4. I was looking at what was available in 55 for my build. I want to do it as close to the original version as I can, It will be black. Building it your own style is great. A roadster with a newer Holly would look neat, Ernest I also have in the works a couple of Tweedy Pies. One with the flathead as it was first built and one built in a later version.
  5. Looks to be a early Carter (WCFB?) 4 bll on an adapter
  6. Looks like coming up with 4bl carb and manifold won't be a problem not sure what 4bl carbs were available in the mid 50's the actual v12
  7. I had a 76 like this one that sat in the driveway waiting on some care but could never get the title so it never was driven
  8. 15 degrees won't be noticeable unless your a bean counter, I haven't checked it out yet but head bolts maybe in a different pattern also ' If you were to build it would paint the original color black or go for the Datsun red ? Me personally would paint it black.
  9. I always figured on taking two V8's and making them a V12,
  10. The ultimate "Fake" : Pretends to be a sports car, Not a car in the first place.
  11. Back in the 60's you could buy white lettering and numbers to glue to the side of your tires to simulate raised white lettering. I did a quick search and you can still buy them. At Bed Bath and Beyond no less.
  12. Ford did build cars during that time for the military, but that ambulance wasn't one of them . Note to self : Self, do more research before typing
  13. When did they go from real wood on a Woodie to metal painted to look like wood? Fake wood
  14. The original HRL was built on a shortened 41 Lincoln Zephyr frame, The original version was actually painted black, but Charlie painted it red (a toyota color) to make it stand out better at car shows. Last I heard his son said it was in a museum somewhere in Washington state, it has been so long ago that I talked to him I don't remember all the details. "Charlie Ryan is a musician, songwriter and a car guy. In the late 1940s, he purchased a used 1941 Lincoln Zephyr four-door sedan. After a couple of years, he decided to make a hot rod out of it. He removed the Zephyr body, cut two feet off the frame to shorten the wheelbase and dropped a 1930 Ford Model A coupe body on it. At first, the car was painted black with red wheels. Charlie installed a '48 V-12 engine in it along with the 3-speed with overdrive '48 transmission." More info here: http://www.joesherlock.com/Hot-Rod-Lincoln.html
  15. Is it me or are there snaps along the back chrome strip ? Are they for the "fake cover" that goes there when to top is down ?
  16. The price in the picture is not correct , According to my latest price sheet it is $50 as it was posted in the post above
  17. Maybe having a 'Split Window Convert is just compensating for a having a small "stinger"
  18. R&M sells a Go Kart kit copied from the AMT 63 Ford P/U kit, $50
  19. The Only car that it looks right on is the Stingray. In 63 drivers were complaining about the blocked vision so they came out with kits to eliminate the split. I bet a lot of owners ow wished they had the "split" back back.. I watched a conversion on Fantomworks where they put on a split window top on a convertible.
  20. Fireball Carbs are very nice, Several to choose from.
