  1. Thanks Ace. I have two of the newer kits and I do see a difference in the parts from the Classic kit. Thanks for the link to workbench post. I will give it a good read They do have a similar grille shell assembly, Current price is $8.95
  2. I just opened the AMT Classic Model A Roadster and included in the box were parts that look to be from the Ala Kart. I know in the earlier editions that the Ala Kart included a Stock Mode A as a two car kit. In the Classic there is a set of custom fenders similar the the AK but a bit different. Also is a Model A pickup roadster body similar to the AK but minus some of the custom touches. Could these parts be the one used in the Mod Rod/Ala Kart kit ? Any history on the kits timeline and changes would be interesting and appreciated.
  3. Building a 50's Era Track Nose Model A and thought about getting a helmet for a prop. Not sure what the wore if anything back in the day. I know that after the war they used leather flight helmets and goggles They may have worn the half helmets with the leather ear straps. Are there any scale helmets in scale that would work ? Bonus Question: Looking thru online pictures I noticed they didn't have any roll bars and not sure about seat belts either ?
  4. You might just put "2015 Volkswagen Passat TDI Diesel reviews " in a Google search. That is where I usually start. I have Edmund's a good place.
  5. Since the song was released in 63 I would lean towards it being a 63, The Little Old Lady from Pasadena was released in 64 and the lyrics call it a " a brand new shiny red super stocked Dodge" so I figure it to be a 64. (your results may varie)

  7. Not trying to be a dick either, Just saying If you are building to the exact sing lyrics, you need a Super Stock Dodge (which happens to be that they were only Darts) , a 413 and Ram induction. The whole thing together is not correct but it is the song lyrics. I just pointed out what a Ram Induction was and provided a picture for reference as that was asked by the OP. A lot of builds are not "correct" because we build them for our own enjoyment. It's all good
  8. I did not say it was, As far as that goes Dart was never mentioned in the song.
  9. Like I said before, "If you want to go by the song lyrics go Ram Induction OR build it the way you want"
  10. If you are following the song lyrics it's "He's hot with ram induction but it's understood" that would call for the Cross Ram but you can build anyway you want.
  11. It would race in the Super Stock class, so wouldn't that make it a Super Stock Dodge after a sanctioned race ?
  12. Ram Induction on a 413 62-65 Max Wedge Exhaust system
  13. A little background for those that are interested https://macsmotorcitygarage.com/saturday-morning-cartune-the-little-old-lady-from-pasadena/
  14. When I first posted this in April I had a couple 32's that had been finished and in the storage process one or more handles had gotten knocked off. I do know to research my builds before and during my builds. I do have some replacements now. I do need a "T" style handle I will need for the "rumble seat" type of trunk lid. I haven't started searching my parts stash for that yet.
  15. Those are nice How are they on shipping ? Cost and delivery time ?
  16. Thanks for the information. They should work for 55 and later era hot rods. I will keep them in mind Scott. Do have a web site to look at your offerings?
  17. My current project has a Flatty with a SCOT Blower, Ardun heads and a Harman-Collins magneto. This one is a "A" roadster with a track nose. I have Artillery wheels on it now, but was trying to plan my next project, I like the look of the Halibrands but want to keep it as era correct as I can These are the wheels I am interested in
  18. Starting to build some vintage style Model A's , T's and Deuces. I see a lot with Halibrand wheels . I want to keep mine as correct to the 30's - 50's era. I am thinking Halibrand came much later, maybe sometime in the 60"s . Any info appreciated. Thanks Jon
  19. This is a vice setup I use for small works. Dremel is a bit too fast for distributors but you can chuck up a small drill bit and turn by hand like a pin vise. I found the small vise on ebay and it will hold most small odd shapes , may or may not hold a distributor .
  20. My club S.A.B.A. here in Portland just had a Inter-Club Challenge Meet with the modelers of L.A.M.A.> I couldn't attend but from the pictures posted it had a good showing.
  21. Spent a few years of my youth in Vallejo just north of San Fran. Couldn't wait to move back to Oregon. Check out my FB page (link below}
  22. The only clubs south of Portland are an IPMS Chapter in Salem, an IPMS chapter in Lebanon and Lane Auto Modelers Ass’n in Eugene/Springfield. Nothing south of that until you get into central California.
  23. I will check with my model club and see whats down south. Maybe a couple club members will chime in here
