Finned Oil Filter ?
Jon Haigwood replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
That may work, I could polish it and it would look more realistic -
Was there ever a Finned Oil filter included in a KIt ? I need to duplicate the one pictured. R&M has one in resin but the fins are a bit small. Withe resin after the Molotow is applied then the red paint applied when I try and remove the red from the top of the fins it looks terrible,

I put the can upside down in a bucket and use a bottom edge cutting can opener (manual) . I let the pressure slowly release for awhile then finish cutting the bottom off. Be careful when you pour it out as sometimes the gas bubbles up and it may overflow. I put it in a glass jar with a surgical glove stretched over the top with a pin hole in a finger tip. This allows the gas to escape with out letting air back in.

Jon Haigwood replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks that makes sense. I am building two 331'S simultaneously , one for the Kookie T and one for a Deuce Roadsters. I don't normal work with GM's and I think breathers or oil fill ports Thanks Again -
Not familiar withe GMC's but what are the bumps on the valve covers for on the Cadillac 331 in the Roth's Outlaw kit for ?? Google did not show any on stock or hot Rod engines

Thanks that is a big help -
Wifey picked up this kit at the Goodwill today , it looks like it is mostly there and unbuilt (no decals). There is no scale size on the box or instructions and only one ad on ebay ($500) with no size posted. I have found it listed as 1/24 th but it looks a bit bigger to me. Any info on this kit appreciated

Jackson Jerd Distributors ?

Looking close at a bunch of pictures It looks like 2 wires go to the side they are mounted on and 2 cross over to the other side. And the same for the other side. I just can't figure out where they mounted the coils. Edit: actually it looks like the coil wires run under and behind the firewall -

Yes both the pictures and link will help. Originally Norm had a Tiki Women Head shift knob. It was later changed to a skull. There is also a skull mounted on the rear springs. They are not glow in the dark but I found some (2) skulls on this Hot wheel -
Gathering parts for my Kookie T and it had a Jackson Jerd Distributor. I am not familiar with these and my question is do they use a separate coil for each side ?

I used Formula 560 Canopy Cement on the seat inserts on a pair of buckets It worked better than Micro Mask

I just buy the refills. I use some in the airbrush or apply with an appropriate sized brush -
Just gotta love them Mopars

Sounds like we are not talking Factory cars here. Being the once owner of a 66 Barracuda I tend to like them. The first generation of Barracuda are an acquired taste. Either you love them or hate them. I call them the "Red Headed Step Child" of Pony Cars
-
I was just quoting from the same Wiki article. And only if the Valiant had a factory performance package. I have never seen a "S" code Valiant. Doing a bit of googling, I find the definition of a Pony car varies all over the place. It all depends on who you ask. It is all just opinions. After all you could be as right as I am or I could be as wrong as you are. (jk)

The first pony car to be released was the Plymouth Barracuda, which went on sale on April 1, 1964 (two weeks before the Ford Mustang).[10] The Barracuda was released as a fastback coupe, based on the platform of the Plymouth Valiant compact car
-
Well actually "yes" I would consider it a Pony Car. I have seen a lot of Nova street racers. I would even think about including the 61/63 Pontiac Tempest with the 215 Aluminum block 2 br with Saginaw 4sp. In 63 they offered the 327. Very fast little cars.

In my humble opinion that dog don't hunt. My criteria for a Pony car is a Compact with a High performance small block. This would be the 66 Barracuda with the S package and the Mustang with the GT package Nothing to do with hood or deck lengths. In 1970 Barracudas were getting out of the compact car range into the mid sized range. The 66 Barracuda was the first Barracuda without the Valiant badgeing and had a Barracuda fish on the grille, for me this was the first Barracuda and not a Valiant with a sport roof with or without the Barracuda badge. If it had a big block it was a Muscle car

Now, THIS is a Car!!!!!
