  1. I used Createx / AutoAir Colors . I like the application but had a hard time getting a good clear due the roughness of the surface. I started off with Future but that seemed to turn out to thick. I have some Wicked colors but have never tried it. What I like about it is you can lay down a coat and dry it with a hair dryer and do the next coat shortly there after. And it is not effected by humidity after all you can thin it with water.
  2. Anybody have any experiences with any of the Badger paint lines ? They have some primers made especially to smooth out the surfaces of 3D printed parts , I thought this may work well for Resin bodies with surfaces that were not real smoot.
  3. I was wondering that also
  4. Yes that was the kit most likely the same body used in the Orange Crate Thanks
  5. These were in the Revell Orange Crate Kit, I know I have seen them in another kit but can't remember which one, Was thinking it might have been a 32 Sedan kit ?
  6. Thanks Snake, Right you are.
  7. On my FB Model page I change out the header photo often. I started going thru the list of AMBR cars. One of my posters asked that same question. When I post a new picture I try and research the cars to see if I can find where they were today. Some I could find no trace , a few I found in Museums and Car collections. Most notable find was a one (don't remember which one) that I found in Richard Rawlings collection. He had taken it to Japan along with some other cars for auction. I asked Richard if he had sold it and told him "American Hot Rods need to stay in the U.S,A.. He actually got back to me and said it was still in his collection.
  8. sorry typo meant "drag" body thanks
  9. I looked at theirs but $50 is more than I want to spend. Thanks
  10. Are there any VW Bug drag bodies available other than Flintstones ? Thanks
  11. Thanks for the info. Sounds like a challenge
  12. I was watching an episode of American Pickers and they showed a beautiful stock 39 Zephyr. Is there any way to convert another kit to be a Zephyr? I know flintsones has a custom body but I was think more of a stock build. (and the last flinstones body I bought was unbuild-able There is a 41 Lincoln Continental Cabriolet not sure how close this would be to a Zephyr Coupe/Convertible,
  13. Anybody ever put out a 1/24-1/25 scale Tesla? Mostly interested in the motor and drive for a project
  14. In the past T Buckets were all basically the same to me. When I went to a show I would see one and think well there is another "T". Now that I am building them in miniature I look for the actual differences in the builds .
  15. Yup , gotta find your tolerable range of annoyances and decide what to watch and what not to watch. In these covid conditions our choices are getting smaller. Just watched an episode of "Mike Brewers World of Cars" he had a interesting visit with Gene Winfield a demonstration on hammer welding and leading.
  16. I like his work, the way he thinks thru builds and the finished projects. BUT I am not impressed how brags on himself all thru the show. This is the same reason I stopped watching Bad Chad.
  17. You definitely don't see this car driving down your street everyday Ron Courtney’s Legendary Custom One-Off ’51 Ford
  18. Seems like our club is trending in the direction of 49 to 60 customs and lead sleds. At the club meetings (that we have not held for a few months due to covid) Hot Rod builds are definitely a minority.
  19. The problem with the T kits is they all seem to have the same interior buckets. You need to do some scratch building to have something different. R&M has a few interior kits for the A and 32 but nothing for the T Bucket. But thats why we are builders and not just assemblers
  20. As far as model cars go (in scale) I think with the recent emergence of new 29 kits a large majority seem to be building them more. I am getting near the end of my 29/32 phase and getting back to my T Bucket phase working on a Bob Johnston version of Tweedy along with a Roth version. Also a Kookie Car and a few random builds.
  21. I have always liked the Ala Kart and have a few kits in my stash. I wanted to build one until I saw the one built by a fellow club member known here as 38 Crush. He spent years collecting photos and information to build the most accurate Ala Kart out there. I could never come close to this so I decided I would do some Phantom builds. AKA: Ala Delivery etc etc. I'm happy just having a Barris signed photo of it.(he is the one that got the resin T&T kit)
  22. This info from a Ala Kart expert. : " decals made by Fred Cady. However even they weren't correct. After you correct all the inaccuracies with the Ala Kart kit none of the decals fit. The Fred cady decals were the closest But I still needed three sets to decal it correctl"
  23. Not sure holds rights to it, AMT ? Another club member who also has this kit said it was approved by Barris maybe 30 trs ago." There were several other different customs cast by T&T like the Dobie Gillis Coupe, The Car, and the Green Hornet." Not guaranteeing the accuracy of that information.
  24. A build buddy is looking for info on this kit Thanks for any info.
