  1. I am thinking Podcasts and youtube "how-tos" and "product revues" may be a bit different.
  2. Our local Club (SABA) will be discussing the use of making Podcasts to help promote model building for the younger generation. I have zero experience with podcasts. I would like your thoughts on the subject. Thanks
  3. I have the pre-painted T kit and it is a very basic screw together kit. Picked it for my Grandson
  4. Why not ? The additional dialogue was very informative to me and others.
  5. Yes Mark answered the initial question. And others added some very helpful and information and insights. And I thank you all.
  6. Yes it has the long narrow battery. Not sure what direction to go on this , but I may just do a custom such as the one in the pic
  7. This kit shows square headlights and round headlights optional
  8. I thought it may be an original issue until I found this on google. According to Wiki they didn't make one in 64
  9. Not on box . not on instructions , no decals
  10. Anyone know the date of issue for the AMT AVANTI 20175-150 ? Thanks
  11. Picked this up at an estate sale today for $4. Not sure if the placement of the steering wheel is correct as there were no instructions
  12. I filled the Cobra body with clay, now that you reminded me. Not sure what plastic I was using thou ?
  13. I dug out my old homemade vacuum former for reference. I made this after reading an article in a model mag, somewhere in the 90's. I had good access to plexiglass at the time. It was designed to use a shop vac.connected via the plumbing connectors. I have so been unable to find the metal framework with handle that would clamp around a sheet of plastic (8.5 x 11). The method of operation was to place the buck (item to be copied) on the top and heat the plastic sheet mounted in the framework, place it in a toaster oven until the plastic started to sag. Then quickly place it over the vacuum box and hit the shop vac "on" switch. I only used it once to try and duplicate a Cobras Daytona body for slot car use. Unfortunately it would not curve inwards at the base of the sides.
  14. Thats a hard no from me. But everybody is entitled to their own taste. Even an ugly child is loved by their Mama
  15. Thanks for the info. Went to a NNL show and swap meet . Picked up the AMT 5 window in a raffle drawing. Found a Monogram 3 window for $10. This will be a good start. Also picked up a Revell 32 3 window that someone had chopped the top on and all the parts were there and unassembled for $3. Thanks Jon
  16. I also have never heard of that combination. I use Tamiya Extra Thin with styrene melted in. (sprue glue) I have in the past used super glue and talic.
  17. Maybe the kit was miss-named. Should be "Vanishing Part"
  18. I have a Special Needs Grandson that is getting interested in building. WE have done two Snaps together, one 18 wheeler and one monster truck. Next in line will be the Testers Hot Metal series T Bucket with pre-painted body and the Maisto 69 Charger die cast pre-painted kit. That is the only Muscle Car kit that I am aware of but there may be more.
  19. Thanks , those are good guidelines for posting . I won't report a post for something minor like that, it's not the way I roll. Thanks for the reply
  20. I recently posted a question in the "general" forum that was moved. I fully understand why but I am unclear where the line is between the "general" forum and the "question" forum. I will admit that I do post questions in the "general" forum but my reasoning is that on the "question" forum I don't seem to get much response but if I place the same question on the "general" forum I get responses. I also have noticed that there are several other posts on the wrong forum, so. It seems to me that the knowledgeable members do not frequent the "question" forum as much as the "general" forum so they do not see the posts there. Now I am not complaining about the move but today I noticed several similar posts were also moved yet some that in my opinion should also be moved were not. So again, what determines if it stays or goes ? And yes I do I did read "For general model car hobby or 1:1 automotive related topics ONLY." (and yes I always do a search before asking) Start new topic Mark forum as read
  21. Thanks for the info. Big NNL swap meet next saturday. Gives me something to look for . Here is some more pics.
  22. Thinking about building this sometime in the future . What kit would be the best to start out with, the Monogram 1/24 or the Revell 1/25 ?
  23. Wasn't there one with a Maltese Cross ?
