Resin part suppliers
Jon Haigwood replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Thanks again for all the info. Any thoughts about having a list of the suppliers with a rating on there products and customer service ? (maybe just opening up another can of worms?) -

Jon Haigwood replied to JollySipper's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
My Revell 68 Charger comes with a 426 and 440 with separate engine blocks but with no attached tranny. Only one tranny in thekit. The AMT 69 GTX comes with both engines with attached bell housings and only one tranny. -

Speed City answered my e-mail and said my order will be shipped soon. I had an order from Arrowhead Aluminum about a month ago that took some time but I can understand how they can get slammed this time of year. I just ordered another batch of stuff from Arrowhead. I can contact them thru Facebook and get information very quickly. Thanks for all the positive responses. -

I made an order to Speed City on the 19th. I haven't heard from them since. How long does it normally take to ship? Only contact is a e-mail which I sent a message to. -
Thinking about placing an order with Fireball and Speed City and Competition . Any god or bad feedback on them? Thanks Jon

Jon Haigwood replied to Snake45's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I mix baby/talcum power with superglue as a filler. Dries fast an works like regular model plastic. May work for smaller items Then there is Sprue-Glue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8E64rsyuTo8 -

Ramchargers Super Stock exhaust system ?
Jon Haigwood replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
The setup in my photo was from the Ramchargers AFX car. The photo you posted does look more like the header setup that cam with the kit. I did some photo research it looks like the Ramchargers used a few different setups but most pics showed the same as your pic. This means I won't have to try and scratch build a complicated setup. Thanks for the response (again) -
Is finishing your goal?
Jon Haigwood replied to Psychographic's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
For me finishing a build is a just a conclusion of my build. My goal is to improve my skills and learn how to overcome build problems and set backs. I also find that I learn something about the car or the history behind it. I feel a satisfaction when it is complete but I also look at the flaws and try to figure out how to avoid them next time. It is like reading a good book, holds your interest while you are into it but when it is done its done, put up and almost forgotten. But still available to reference back to. Like I said finishing a build is just a conclusion of one small chapter in my life. Like they say "it's not about the destination, it's about the trip getting there" -
What exhaust system did the Ramchargers run in their 64 Super Stock cars ? I know in their FX cars they ran the one in the picture but I am not sure if they ran the same thing in the earlier SS class. The ones in the Lindberg kit are just headers that go straight back with no exhaust system at all.

tread width on cheater slicks
Jon Haigwood replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
I am building a era correct 64 Ramcharger Dodge from the Lindberg Ramcharger kit. I need the hood scoop as I have already used the one in the kit for a Super Stock street build (little Old Lady car) using the Color Me Gone kit. It is too bad that Lindberg did not put the correct slicks in the kit (9") in the first place but thats what keeps us thinking on how to solve our problems. I use some AMT Parts Pak Vintage Pie Crust slicks on a 64 Belvadere Super Stock street racer and they were 9" scale. (labeled as 8-20" 15" And yes 7" do look small but that's what I need for this build. Thanks for all the information given here And thanks berr13 that is what I needed to know. 6bbllbird maybe we can work something out on the 64 scoop Thanks everybody learned a lot here as always I will order the slicks from Speed City -
tread width on cheater slicks
Jon Haigwood replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Back in the day I ran some cheaters on my beatup 51 Ford. Didn't do well in the snow, Not much traction but they kept the back end in line.Looked funny with homemade snow chains. -

tread width on cheater slicks
Jon Haigwood replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
I will probably have to order from Speed City just wish they had the hood scoop I need so I could get them from the same place to save on shipping. Competition has the hood scoop but doesn't know the width of their cheaters. -
Mopar Super Stock Reference material ?
Jon Haigwood replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I may have to order tires from Speed City Resin they are the correct width (7") but they dont have the Hemi hood scoop I need. I was hoping to get tires and hood scoop at the same place to save on shipping. -
Looking at some Competition Resins Cheater slicks for a 60's Super Stock class. Anyone know the width of these tires ? I called them and he said he did not know of the top of his head but he thought they were 1" ?? http://www.compresins.com/site/751597/product/CRT-502

Mopar Super Stock Reference material ?
Jon Haigwood replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Since I have the Ramcharger decals I thought I would go with that. I was under the impression that on the Hemi engine cars they used a 4 spd but I see the Ramchargers were auto's. -
Mopar Super Stock Reference material ?
Jon Haigwood replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I do think the car in the video is a clone I noticed the grille was painted white where the raced cars were chrome or stainless . I was most interested in engine detail and roll bar as the one in the kit was not correct as the slicks were too wide also. There are a lot of pics on the facebook and web pages of the Ramchargers and Golden Commandos but most of them are just pics of the outside of the car. I will check out the hot rod article. Thanks -
I need some 7" cheaters for a Super Stock build. I know Speed City Resins carry some but Competition Resins also shows some but it does not state the width. Anybody know what the width is on these and which would be a better tire ? Thanks Jon
