  1. OK OK , now should we define "lakes pipes" ? (I think we have been down this road before LOL)
  2. I was thinking all out top end not 1/4 mile. Couldn't you gear it for a 140 top end without the supercharger ? A supercharger on a Flattie in the era just doesn't seem right to me
  3. OK OK. It sounds to me that building a "Li Deuce Coupe" would be a conundrum to do. you might just call it a "Unicorn Build"
  4. In the Lil Old Lady song it said "There's a brand new shiny super stocked Dodge." Indicating to me that hat it had the "Super Stock" racing options. Not sure about "Shut Down""superstock Dart winding out in low"
  5. I don't see it happening today but in the big box stores when someone would open up a kit and leave it on the shelf the were instructed to toss it in the dumpster since it was cheaper then sending it back. I never could find out when K Mart dumped their kits so I could retrieve some.
  6. I have found what I need (so far) Thanks for the offer.
  7. Deano , thanks checked out HAMB lots of Kool stuff Draggon, Thanks joined the page (my facebook page link at bottom of post) John , Thanks for the links ,looks like a lot good info. Ace, Yes I am interested on how it was done back in the day. One of my facebook page cohorts told me about Rik Hoving's Fotki page. Lots and lots of pics and info including pics of old Hot Rod , Rod and Custom and a few others including how-tos. I already copied one on chopping a 49 Merc and a pickup and how to french tail headlights. Still looking Thanks a bunch to all of you
  8. Looking for 50's Custom reference pictures. Mostly engine bay, suspension and interior pics. I have went thru all the google searches I can think of and thru Kustomrama web site and only found a few. Any new direction you can send me would be greatly appreciated. Looking for stuff like this it's for a 56 Ford)
  9. I sent a email to JF which included a picture of the front (same as above) and asked him if this was normally the way they came. He reply with "yes on nb280 that's thick on original amt kit just sand flt to desired thickness" So the answer to my question on the original post "is this typical" is yes it is on this body due to the design of the original AMT body. Thanks Jimmy for your response and the feedback from those here on the forum. Not sure at this time how I will progress with this build but I won't hesitate buying from JK in the future.
  10. There is no sales tax here in Oregon and in Washington there is for residents but not for out of state buyers. When Washington residents come into Oregon they don't have to pay a tax. Sounds more like a fee than a tax. If ebay or sellers are collecting for taxs they better be turning the funds and records over the the state they are collecting for. If not they maybe looking for trouble.
  11. Yeah the rest of it looks great and with opening doors frames on the original that can be expected. if I were ti use it I would just replace the front with part of the donor body. For what I want I will just take the roof and the continental kit and maybe the rear wheel areas
  12. I can tell he is a stand up guy. Always impresses me when someone sends you freebie along with your order, Just not sure what to do with it LOL
  13. I agree the way it had to be cast there was no other that it could have had opening doors. And I am good with that. As I said this is my first resin body and now I know not order one with opening doors (sharp learning curve). My main problem is the hug flash on the front. That would be very time consuming to grind out. I will figure out how to use it but I will most likely chop off the stuff I want and put it on the kit body. I do have a few resin bodies I picked up at swap meets and the don't have this issue but then again they are a different style of car. I have never bought on from Jimmy and from what I have seen he makes some neat stuff but I was wondering if all that flash in the front was what I should expect. Don't get me wrong I am not dissing him any just need some input.
  14. I understand that but the picture in the ad is a lot different than the product. Needs a little more truth in advertising.
  15. I thought about cutting out the front and putting that part from the donor body but getting opening doors would be a bunch of work. Since I would rather have the crown vic side chrome maybe I will use the resin body as a donor and put the chopped roof and the continental kit on the kit body . Maybe make a mold of the skirts, I want the front of them open into a scoop style.
  16. Old Guy new to resin. Bought this from Jimmy Flintstone on ebay. This looks like a lot of work.
  17. Sorry to hear this. He will be missed Rest in Peace Harry
  18. After owning a 1:1 Javelin and Matador I am not overly impressed with them. But they do hold a spot in Pony Car history. Since the demise of AMC the Mopar community has adopted them into the family of sorts. Kinda like a "red-headed step-child" But I always kinda wanted to get a SC Rambler
  19. Looking for some Seattle Seahawks decals for a 40 Ford race car . Any decal suppliers carry sport related decals for 1/24th scale? The ones I have found on ebay are a 3" in th smallest size. Need something a tad smaller and a left and right image. Thanks
  20. Just got back from our NNL Modelfest where I traded a 65(?) truck kit ( I don't do Chevys but I wanted the boat in the kit) for a collection of ERTL metal bank kits. There is a 40 Ford Coupe, 57 Chev,, 50's Chev Sedan Delivery, 6something Chev Pickup and a Mustang P51(?) airplane. Can't seem to find much on Google about them. I got them for my Grandsons and would like to find some kind of instructions for them. Any information would be helpful. Thanks
