Just wanted to remind people what a great guy Norm Veber is. I placed an order a couple of weeks ago and he called me yesterday to tell me it was shipped and I should see it on Monday. Great! Looking forward to it I said. He goes on to tell me that a couple of things that I ordered were no longer available from him and he forgot to enclose the refund check with the order so he sent that separately. No problem I told him, thanks for the call. Still not done, Norm goes on to tell me where I can find a better version of what I had wanted, along with the kit number and why it is a better part than his resin copy. I again told him thanks and to have a great weekend, I appreciated the information and I would be looking to order from him again. Now I have to ask, how many times do we hear on this forum about a lack of communication from resin vendors? More than I can begin to remember. Norm's efforts yesterday are the reason why he does a great business, because he cares! In the last month I have placed 3 different resin orders and all three were fantastic to deal with. Chief Joseph The Modelhaus R and M of Maryland Co. The last two do not have pictures of their products but yet I do not hesitate to order from them as I relied on others experience to start buying from them and will continue to do so! I hope others will look past the issue of product pictures and realize what great guys Norm and Don Holthaus are and place orders without hesitation.

When will Revell show us what they got?
mikemodeler replied to 7000in5th's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think it may have already been mentioned here but Revell will be announcing more than just a few car models and it could be something non-car related that is holding up ALL of their 2014 announcements. In response to Tom's comments above, I am sure the staff at Revell has been tasked with multiple areas of responsibility as that has become the norm in corporate America. As we have seen with the Moebius Ford pickups, communicating all of the necessary changes and updates takes time and when dealing internationally there can be delays due to time zones and waiting on samples. China also celebrates holidays in October and some businesses are shut down the first two weeks of the month. I find it hard to believe that there could be a forum member here who is waiting to buy/build a model based on the 2014 releases from Revell! Many of us have a stash of models into the hundreds and have plenty to build for many years or lifetimes! -
Round 2 Grumpy Jenkins' 66 Nova
mikemodeler replied to Brett Barrow's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Thanks Casey & Rob, even with the Cragar SS wheels I think I will hit the Hobby Lobby and get one of these. Might try my hand at a sleeper car now that this has a bench seat and steelies, just have to decide what powerplant to use....... -
Thinking about heading to Atlanta for the Southern NNL hosted by the ACME club, but I can't find a date for it! I know they usually have it in mid-November. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Round 2 Grumpy Jenkins' 66 Nova
mikemodeler replied to Brett Barrow's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I know this kit has the steel wheels for the drag version, which "mag" wheels are in this version? The ones I bought years ago had the Cragar SS chrome 5 spokes and the box art on this release show ones that appear a little different from the Cragars. I think I will have to get one of these, even if I already have several of the earlier ones! -
Ed Roth's '56 Ford Pick-up by Revell
mikemodeler replied to Austin T's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
After reading through this post I am inclined to get rid of this model from my stash. I would rather wait until a new tool is offered than to struggle with this kit. I appreciate the information these posts provide, keep them coming! -
MODELHAUS PRODUCTS PICS
mikemodeler replied to Tom Kren's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I placed an order before these pix were here ( have bought many times before) and was ready to add the Shasta trailer kit but darn if they didn't get my order out in less than 2 weeks! Guess I will have to place another order soon! No hesitation from me to buy from Don and Carol and a lack of pictures on their website should not worry potential buyers. -
I have waited this long, a couple more months to get a better product is well worth it to me! I have a few kits (ha ha ) to tide me over until then. As others have said, many thanks to your efforts and those of the Moebius team to get these kits as accurate as possible while bringing us something highly desired.

slight rant about differences
mikemodeler replied to wagonmaster's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Also keep in mind that us automotive modelers tend to kitbash whereas the military guys probably can't as easily. Many of us have bought a kit for the sole purpose of the wheels or engine in that kit to be used on another build. There are those that build cars with great detail and accuracy and then there are those that build for the enjoyment of seeing a childhood memory or dream come to life. We have also accepted the fact that model kit manufacturers can sell us kits with only 1 radiator hose, an alternator that works without any support brackets, and other inaccurate details or omitted parts. -
Looks like it is built off of the Nissan Sentra platform. Ugly front end, but then what would you expect from the company that brought you the Juke?

Prostar Daycab is Ready!
mikemodeler replied to cargostar's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Looks great! Now, about that Travelall and 1110 pickup............................. -
coming along nicely Casey! I think if you were to offer this in stock configuration with the ability to drop it for those that wanted to you would have more interest in this. The box in the right corner of the interior is where the jack and lug wrench was stored on these trucks- I know because I owned three of them! The last two (88 & 91 standard cabs) I removed the jack so I could locate stereo components in the tight space in the cab.

Never had an issue using the coupon on kits or paints or any other supplies so as mentioned, it has to be an isolated incident with that cashier/store.

Modelhaus Shasta Trailer- anyone build it?
mikemodeler replied to mikemodeler's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Thanks guys, I will have to save my allowance (ha ha!) and order one of these up next month! Too many packages showing up lately, and my birthday and Christmas are 3 days apart so I can't tell the wife! -
Love that red. nice job.

Can one buy from Stevens Intl' direct?
mikemodeler replied to Mike Kucaba's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
PM sent. -
In going through the Modelhaus pictures Tom Kren posted in the Resin section, I saw the Shasta trailer and have wondered if anyone has built it? I am thinking about ordering one but wanted to know what others thought. I have no problem with the price as I know the quality of the Modelhaus product. Is it detailed on the inside or not? I have a resin R&R 72 Chevy Suburban that I was going to build to mate it up with.

Just a heads up guys, I sent a check to Joseph on 9/27 for three sets of tires and today the mailman just dropped off a small box with 3 sets of these tires inside. What I received looks even better than the picture above, and quite honestly better than a lot of kit tires. Not sure how he does it, but Joseph casts some excellent tires and his service is outstanding. I think I will be spending time at the workbench tonight getting some new tires mounted on some builds! Do not hesitate to buy any of his tires, they are accurate, well detailed and like I said, his service is outstanding! Thanks for filling another void in the truck tire world Joseph! Mike

'56 Chevy Nomad - Finished - Class of '56 - Entry #5
mikemodeler replied to Ramfins59's topic in Model Cars
NICE! Everybody else has already stated what I was going to say, love the color combo! -
Very nice, I remember that paint scheme was popular in the late 70's/early 80s.

Cool model displays...

Anyone make a Resin '67-'72 Ford F-100?
mikemodeler replied to Terryk2003's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
They will be releasing a longbed and shortbed and both will be the styleside based upon the test shots shown. Latest release dates shown on Tower Hobbies website say March 2014 but hopefully we will see them sooner. There is a resin kit out there that depicts this truck but based on other's comments who have seen or built it, you are better off waiting for Moebius to release their kits. -
new shop (Time to pack)
mikemodeler replied to b_lever1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I would look at organizing it so clutter was kept to a minimum. Shelving and a good workbench setup as well as proper lighting would be top priority for me. If you have the ability to set up a separate spray area, that would be another ideal thing to add. Send us pictures when you have it done!
