  1. Those look nice and should fill a void in the modeling world. A resin caster was working on a set of those but not sure if they have made it to market yet. I am sure you will get some inquiries as to price and availability soon. Great job on the conversion.
  2. Art, I would think they (Round 2) have an idea of what is viable and has sales potential and therefore they are scheduling production based on that. I remember hearing that the MPC Dodge pickups were modified into the Monster Trucks in the early eighties and have been rendered somewhat useless as a stock vehicle as a result. I always hoped that Dave at Model King would resurrect them, much like the Ford Super Stones and Chevy Blazer kits.
  3. Some nice models there, thanks for sharing Terry!
  4. Randy, WHERE did you find them? Got a picture of them?
  5. John, I don't think he does, but I will check my spares box and see if I have some of these and if I do, I will let you know. There might be a set of aftermarket wheels like you mentioned, have you checked Hobbylink Japan?
  6. Thanks Gregg, I am in for one now and another when you have them in 1/24 as well. I remember seeing these at a couple of shows in Wisconsin way back when and meant to get one then but didn't and thanks to you, I can! I will have to check the website daily to make sure I am one of the 50!
  7. A great story Kerry and your daughter is an inspiration to all of us. My problems are so insignificant compared to the challenges she has faced and yet she seems to be a happy little girl, something I am sure you and your wife have had a lot to do with. It amazes me to see parents of special needs children and how they are able to handle the difficulties that come with having a child who requires the care they do. I believe that God selects special people for special children and you have illustrated that here in this post.
  8. He played a triple bill with Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn on August 26, 1990 at Alpine Valley in East Troy Wisconsin. It was the day after I got married and tried to convince my wife it would be a great start to our honeymoon and for her to hear some great music. She decided against it and off we went. I remember waking up on August 27th to hear the news that Stevie Ray's helicopter crashed in the fog taking off after the concert killing him and 3 others. I had met Stevie 2 years earlier and was a huge fan of all three musicians and it was hard to believe he was gone. My wife felt bad for not going but as I reminded her, no one could have known he was going perish that way, especially after he had beaten drug and alcohol problems. There is a radio station in Chicago, WXRT, that plays a program called "Blues Breakers" and it is where I got turned on to the likes of Robert Cray and others. I try to remember to tune in when I can but being on the east coast means staying up late to listen! Glad you enjoyed the show, it is always fun to see acts like him in those small settings.
  9. Norm's catalog is not organized and updated like some others but his product quality is superior. Like Don and Carol Holthaus, if you have a question, just call and he will answer them. As an FYI, he is offering a Chevy pickup grille conversion for the recently released Revell '77 GMC pickup. Haven't ordered it yet but will soon!
  10. I will let the Michigan guys chime in on what may be local to where you are at but if you want a couple of websites of retailers that could help you, then I suggest either of these two: www.modelroundup.com www.plastic-models.com Both have great customer service and a wide selection of kits of all kinds. Diecast is a metal replica of a vehicle, usually already assembled and comes in sizes ranging from 1/18th to 1/64th. Some collect them but their popularity isn't as great as it once was. Happy hunting!
  11. I work in the auto parts business and currently it requires some "know how".
  12. Had to study that for a minute to see where they patched the sheetmetal from the original headlights and moved them down into the grille. Should be a neat one Chuck!
  13. That's the Maaco method! LOL! Wish I could offer some advice but you have tried all the tricks I know of.
  14. Hurry up, the Southern NNL is only a couple of weeks away! Nice start Tyrone, keep raising the bar !
  15. www.plastic-models.com also has paint available online. Check them out, many times with a $25 order they pick up the shipping. Modelroundup and Hobby Lobby also have online paint ordering.
  16. I wish I could go, I will be in town but have work meetings on Saturday and unable to get out.
  17. I have a friend who has some nice, collectible muscle cars and while he has restored some of them, he prefers to drive the others despite them being worth some serious money as he would rather enjoy them than to have them sit on display. His cars have been featured in magazines and many people admire his "balls" for driving them like he does.
  18. Kinda the same thing isn't it Tom, or are you a stickler for perfection?
  19. I once worked for a family owned company and the father and son were car collectors, to the point where they had a separate facility for their cars that had been restored or were all original. During the first week of employment, my boss walked me into the back of the warehouse and showed me an original 57 T-Bird with Supercharger that had once been owned by Clark Gable. It was parked in the loading dock area, covered in dirt and semi trucks backed in everyday to load/unload just a couple of feet away! Then he takes me to another part of the warehouse where sitting under a dirty canvas tarp is an original Cobra 427! It was on jackstands and supposedly the owner had been working on it 10 years earlier and then had some health issues and left it as is. I offered to finish it if I could drive it and was politely told "NO" ! In a separate storage room he shows me a 426 Hemi, a 409, a couple of 427 Twin Cam Fords and other assorted engine blocks and heads from various 60's muscle cars. Most of us, given the opportunity to own the cars I mentioned, would probably have them in a climate controlled garage and wax them dutifully because we would be honored to have them, while a guy who is a millionaire and bought these cars when they were cheap doesn't think anything about leaving them sitting out in a warehouse exposed to all kinds of potential damage! The old adage is true- some people have more money than brains.
  20. Looks great, nice scratch building! I have one of those trucks to finish myself!
  21. Contact Casey, he might know of some sources.
  22. My thoughts exactly! Nice details and execution.
  23. Bob, You are welcome. I think it is right to post such information, especially when the service is outstanding, as well as when it is disappointing.
  24. I will take one, but only if Jungle Pam comes with it!
