I think when you are spending upwards of $16,000,000 per year on sponsoring a race team, not to mention countless millions more entertaining customers and employees at the race track, you have to consider what the actions of MWR means from a PR perspective. I don't believe NAPA was looking to leave MWR, they have had several chances over the last 8 years to do so and have stood by them through thick and thin. This had more to do with perception of fair play and the image it portrayed. Cheating in NASCAR is a given, although the France family would probably prefer to say " Gain a competitive advantage ".

I will state that I am an employee of NAPA and think they did the correct thing as the intentions of MWR were certainly intended to alter the race results. Yes, NAPA pays a lot of money to MWR and expects results and exposure, but this is not what they had in mind. Having personally met the two drivers they sponsor- Martin Truex Jr. and Ron Capps- I can tell you they are some of the nicest people I have met in motorsports and I feel bad for Martin as he was not aware of the team's actions.

So yesterday NAPA announced that they were dropping Michael Waltrip Racing at the end of the year due to the "scandal" and subsequent fallout/penalties from the Richmond race. On their Facebook page, there were many responses, good and bad, to NAPA's decision. My question is- Does NAPA's announcement affect where you will purchase parts for your 1:1 vehicles? Without starting an argument over auto parts suppliers, please keep your responses to my question above.

I believe you can also find a styrene version in the recent Revell 72 Cutlass model. VCG, M.A.D. are two vendors that I have had great experiences with in terms of quality and service, highly recommended! -
If Moebius does not offer a 4x4 version, I am sure there will be someone who comes up with a resin conversion kit. I have an extra Midnite Cowboy bed to do a tow truck and Modelhaus has the utility bed. I also have one of the Model King re-issues of the camper & ramp bed kits so besides building a couple of pickup versions of this kit, I am set for 4 more variations!

Very nicely detailed!

Okay, so I got to thinking about this subject last night as I was mulling over another rushed paint job. If I could be more patient when it comes to color coats on models, I think I could get more built. I tend to rush the paint jobs as I am in a hurry to get them finished and as a result, I end up with more WIPs than completed models! So, what is it you wished you could improve in your model building?

Try looking at ATVs in the toy aisle at a Toys R Us or Wal Mart, probably have something pretty close in size and tread style. Check out dollar stores too, they often have cheap toys. -
More likely to get his wife to chit chat than Kenny himself. They are great people and definitely an asset to this hobby. Hated that I missed the CKM show last month, wanted to get a couple of things from him.

Hmm, does that mean we would have seen more Ford small block powered hot rods instead of the other way around Harry???

I was back in Kenosha visiting my parents last week and happened to drive by the old AMC/Chrysler factory and it has been leveled! Still saw a lot of AMC cars in the area but nothing like the 70s and 80s! Even as recently as 8 years ago you could see the influence of both makes on the town as there were plenty of older AMCs on the road as well as new Chrysler products. Sad to see parts of our manufacturing history disappear but it is a reality of the changes we have seen in this country. I find it ironic that the domestic manufacturers are the ones tearing down factories and the import brands are expanding and building their facilities here.

On this day please pause and remember all of those men, women and children we lost 12 years ago.

Growing up there was a local Standard Oil station near me that had one of these in red as their road service truck. Nice job on this build and I wish this was available as a kit! -

Keep up the positive attitude Terry, it does make a difference! Hopefully you will be back to your old activities and self before you know it. Glad to hear such good news for a change! -
Dale, Starting in 69 they no longer used the model Chevy II, they were all Novas. Otherwise your statement is correct.
