  1. Very nice. Dad's got one in his '88 Ranger, same one from his '77 Mustang II. Very comfortable to one-hand drive with the great power steering.
  2. Works great. Thanks!
  3. So, just take a direct link from wherever and paste it? It's not working from my Photobucket....
  4. With a myriad of other projects going on, what's another? 1996 Caprice as a starter. This was how I got it. Most likely, I'll change it to 4WD, but it might just be 2WD with sand paddles in the rear. As you can see, I started the sloppy openings on the rear wheels. I think I'll do big, ugly JC Whitney d-bag truck plastic arch extensions.
  5. You could tape the rim, maybe double-layered, and use steel wool to remove the inner chrome.
  6. Oh, geez... $50 is somewhere I rarely go for a single kit, but the Escort is such a beautiful machine...
  7. This one is way nicer than the other. For logical reasons, I'll tear apart the good one to fix the bad one.
  8. A parts truck for my Ranger. This one's a '96, has a solid frame, decent bed, decent tires, a strong engine (4.0 V6,) bucket seats, and a 5 CD changer. Paid $300 cash, and AAA is hauling it over.
  9. You focused on the road more back then. Power steering and power brakes were luxury options, and there were giant helmet points in the steering wheels - you didn't want to crash, or that was going right into your chest!
  10. Good thing is the Audi is an '84. I may have to pay to find it.
  11. I'm desperately looking for a way to see if my dad's old Audi Coupe GT is still out there. I've been looking everywhere, and I can't find anything free. I've tried CarFax, but they charge: all they told me before asking for payment was that there were three reports - probably the first owner, my dad owning it, then whoever got it from him. Another site said there was no salvage title assigned to it, so that's some hope. I tried Lost Car Registry four years ago, but the site's inactive since then... Can anybody steer me anywhere, maybe in a PM if there's some kind of rule about this?
  12. Happened to two of my old Lesney Matchboxes - both of my Benz Ambulances had the hinges on the rear door disintegrate and fall off, and most of the paint followed shortly afterwards.
  13. For the pickup, you'll need two of the Hasegawa '67 Pickups, or one of those and one of the Revell Of Germany VW T1s if you want full engine detail. You'll need to scratchbuild the bumpers, modify the rear window, and source ramps and mirrors.
  14. How about some three-bar Fiesta caps?
  15. If you don't know already, the engine from the TeeVee is a little bit of a PITA. Sand everything flat, strip the chrome, ignore all mounting pins. Or do what I did and take the whole engine and hanger from a Revell Beetle and graft it on.
  16. And that's a good point: this isn't a traditional patina ride, and that's what I love about it - more of a contemporary thought-invoking piece than the retrospective views that traditional (ahem, "traditional) patina invoke.
  17. I, on the other hand, love it. It's a beautiful look. The clearcoat really mixed and mellowed the rust with the original paint that remains...
  18. Suppose I should've said DePalma for the beauty that is Scarface. Nicolas Winding Refn is good, directed Bronson (a real experience of a movie) and Drive, the movie version of my favorite novella.
  19. I have to keep on top of this, then - really digging those 3D-printed spray cans.
  20. A complete and unbuilt Ertl International Payhauler 350 for $25. Now the quandary comes: build it or sell it... Need bigger shelves.
  21. Would the Revell Chevy plow look too big in 1/24 on this?
