  1. Hey looky there, wheelbase! Can't wait to see what you end up doing to this.
  2. Thanks Pat! I have a Chevy dually project that'll get a set of the low pro tires. I know the 22 inch Pegasus tires also fit, with some work. My next trip into Pegasus, I'm gonna ask if I can buy just the tires.
  3. This is gonna be really cool man. I can wait to see this come together. I also wanna see how you "treat" the truck.
  4. Thanks for checkin on on this Brian and JT. So far I'm having a good time tinkering on this. I think the biggest challenge on this is the frame. I'm gonna have to noggin scratchin on it.
  5. Here's a rough idea of what I'm going for. The cab will be sittin a little higher. No hood.
  6. Gettin some parts together. I'm gonna use the Revell stwers, not the Moebius ones in the pic. This is kinda what I'm goin for. I'm cutting the mufflers off the Revell stacks so I'm left with short, 5 inch straight stacks. Here are some idea mock up pics. I altered the Revell drive rims to fit the super singles. And here's a pic with the visor I'm thinkin of using.
  7. Thanks Rich. This idea just came to me this morning. What I have in mind doesn't fit the BRBO guidelines Thank you Dennis. I've had this cab sittin around for over a year now. The plan hit me like a truck and POW! Italy gettin built now. And, good luck my friend! I'm lookin forward to that next project. Gator, I'm lookin forward to comments and ideas on this. The gears in my head never stopped in my motivation slump. I just couldn't put the knife to styrene. Hopefully I found some motivation. This build and the BRBO are long build times, so these shouldn't be a problem. And Micheal, I forgot to answer your question earlier. The casting on this cab isn't too bad. The windows were "flashed" shut. But the lines appear to be straight, no sink holes.
  8. I'm kinda thinkin of something between "Pi$$ed off pete" and D-Rod. Some shine and some grime. Guess time will tell.
  9. Like I need another build and build off on my plate. But here it is. I'm using a Jimmy Flintstone chopped Pete cab. This be done Welderup style. The entire build will be from the parts box. I have everything I need, the twin turbo Cummins, rubber casted float steers that I'll be using for the drive axle, I've got slews of Revell rims and tires I can use, extra drive axle, steer axle, I'm pretty sure I have a frame, a few sets of Revell stacks, and all the interior parts I need. Here's the cab. I need to get all the parts together and then I'll post those.
  10. I just dug through the ol parts box. I've got just about everything I need for this. I even came across a set of rubber casted tires that I forgot about that'll be perfect on this build. So this will be a parts box build. I didn't think I would ever be able to say that about a truck build. I'll get all the parts together this weekend or next and post a pic of it all. I'll also do a build thread in the truck section, as well as progress pics on here.
  11. I think I'll give this a go. I've been wanting to.build this resin cab for awhile now. I'm thinkin of Welderup style. Twin turbo Cummins in a Jimmy chopped Pete cab. I'm gonna call A-hole Pete.
  12. Thanks Gator. I'm hopin this momentum keeps up.
  13. Great build Tom. Very classic lookin.
  14. They haul anything they can get out of the bottom. Sand, gravel, rock, asphalt grindings, asphalt, whatever.
  15. As do I Hakan. I tend to run by myself here at this vompany. Mostly because the other drivers complain and whine So much, it brings me down. And they don't run like I do, I get tired, I take a nap, I get hungry, I stop to eat. The other drivers here are in a great big hurry, to get to the same place as I am, just sooner, to end up leaving the same time as I do the next morning. I think drivers out here on the highways are too programmed by the big companies to be steering wheel holders, the old timers and truck drivers that are left are fed up with that and the constant addition of regulations and BS. If I can strike up a conversation with someone, great. If there's a conversation I'm not involved in, fine. What gets me are the drivers who have their radio on, then complain that there's a conversation going on. I hear, take it to another channel, nobody cares, or shut up stupid. It's a completely different world out there than what it was 15 or 20 years ago. It's a dam shame.
  16. Thanks man. The hard part is gonna be connecting the intake and exhaust to the motor. I can tell already the plumbing is gonna tight fit.
  17. Well its about time. I guess we are too much alike. We both got some motivation about the same time. This is gonna be good. I'm sure you'll be makin some of your diamond plate tool boxes and some other things. Can't wait to see more AND what you decide to put under it truck wisr.
  18. No plastic kits, but my mother in law got me a 155 piece Craftsman tool kit. Finally got something I can use besides socks and under drawers.
  19. Thanks Sean. I hear ya on a dirty CAT. Kinda like a Detroit with no oil drippin.
  20. Thanks man. Seems I got some motivation goin. I got some done today on this. I decided on the intake and exhaust system. I'm gonna use the Revell kit stacks, the Revell breathers and lids, but added some aluminum tubing to extend it upright, above the cab. I also sprayed on some CAT yellow on the 3406. Here's a taped up, mock up of the intake and exhaust.
  21. Man, I'd love to have that radio. They don't makem' like that anymore. My Magnum is really nice, but I think I'd trade it for one of them.
  22. It's a shame that the "Truck Driver" is a dying breed. I can only hope that there some coming up that'll keep the spirit alive. I think think the truck driver is a modern day cowboy and the government can't stand it. "The Man" sees us as outlaws, or highway terrorists. It's just not true. There are a few who are. But the government's stand of, "when you raid the cathouse, you take the piano player too" attitude, isn't right.
  23. Well, if you don't have satellite, then you got nothing to worry about. But he is gonna be around for at least 5 more years, live. If you do have satellite, there plenty of other channels, and you'd never know he was still there. I understand it's not for everyone, but there are a few that enjoy his sense of humor and the shenanigans that go on.
  24. Put her in the wind, keep the left door shut and foot on the floor. 10-4
  25. How bout ya east bound, anyone got it on come on. Go ahead west bound.. What'd you leave behind ya.. Got a couple full growns at the 102 yard stick takin pictures and a evil kneivel in the middle lookin at ya. 10-4. You look good back to the bottom of hill.
