  1. Here's an article with what Lars Ulrich, Tom Morel and Ozzy had to say about the loss to rock world. http://uproxx.com/music/lemmy-kilmister-passed-motorhead-ozzy-osbourne-tom-morello-lars-ulrich/
  2. Great to see some progress already. Keep up the work.
  3. Can't wait to see where you go with this.
  4. As of today, California is putting an end to the old iron workin in the state. Companies with over 30 trucks, have to be 100% emissions legal. Companies with less than 30 trucks need to be 75% legal. This state is getting ridiculous about stuff like that. It's a sheme. It's all emissions related. Even though the old mechanical 3406 CATs can get better fuel mileage than the new Cummins, PACCAR, sand Detroits.
  5. Ken, that pic there looks like a brochure. Very nice build.
  6. The boost is controlled by your foot on the pedal. If you keep foot off the floor, the boost and fuel consumption will be less. There's no real way to reserve power. Unless you have 95 mile an hour truck and only do 70. Then you have longer legs, to catch up to the legs that just blew your doors off, (yes I've done that, LOL). It's just a matter of knowing how to drive a truck that's tuned like it should be from the dealer, nevermind tuned from Pittsburg Power or PDI. If want some cool videos, youtube PDI Dyno days.
  7. They look to be Italeri based. But who made them, who knows. I think Italeri tires are narrower than these. I can check some the Italeri tires I have around here.
  8. Another unique truck for this deal. I can't wait to see what the custom truck guts come up with. This will be an awesome build Sean.
  9. Fleets detune the trucks in an attempt to "equilize" the fuel curve. There are quite a few drivers who have the mentality of, it's not my truck, not fuel, I don't care. So the trucks are under powered. Most of the time, drivers have nothing to do tracking fuel. Some barely have to worry about even putting fuel in it. Most big companies have accepted there own creation, the steering wheel holder. Some of these have no idea what a proper running truck drives like. JB Hunt here for example. For the longest, to some point still today, have their trucks governed at 62 miles an hour. That's in an attempt to get fuel mileage down by lowering the longest he RPM. They believe lower RPM means lower fuel mileage. Yes and no. Mileage also has to do with turbo pressure. If your runnin at 1400 RPM, while boosting 28 PSI, mileage isn't as good as you'd think. If run the same RPM, but at 15 or 20 PSI, mileage gets much better. It's definitely an art to driving a big horsepower truck. You might be able to pull the hills at 75, holding back and not doing it is the hard part.
  10. Can't wait to see where you go with this Tom.
  11. It's my pleasure. I'm very happy to see the amount of participation and the diversity of trucks. This is turning into what I had invisioned. Thanks to everyone for the interest.
  12. I think Pegasus makes something close, in chrome. You'd just have to strip it and paint it.
  13. This will be a great build. I'm lookin forward to this. Another out of the norm choice. What a great mix of trucks this little competition is bringing out.
  14. This should be interesting. It's really cool that this build off is bringing so many conversions and different trucks out of the norm. This should be good man.
  15. I'm lookin forward to seeing this come together Ken. I'm sure this will look like you plucked it off a brochure or out of one of the 70s truck shows.
  16. Sounds like a great direction you have. This will be a cool build. Can't wait to see what you have in mind for this.
  17. Sounds like a really cool idea Sam. Mack and Carolina have VERY strong ties. Carolina saved Mack from bankruptcy back in the day. This will be great build and tribute to your families truckin history.
  18. Yes sir. There are gonna be some unique old trucks in this deal. Lots of resin. It's really cool the see the diversity of the builds. This is gonna be a cool build man.
  19. Well, most fleet trucks are detuned. So, that driving it like that doesn't really effect anything. Now, as an owner operator. You know where you can and where you cant. There are O/Os that have 800 to 1200 horse and getting 9 miles a gallon. Which is REALLY good. When I worked for Schneider, that truck was lucky to get 5, even going down hill with the engine off (not that I did it, just an exaggeration).
  20. Listening these last couple weeks of best of the last 10 years, I forgot how good it was with Artie there. The show hasn't suffered with his absence, but it would be great to get someone like him in there. I still laugh hearing hid reaction to Bigfoot#2, "it is". I think the best I've heard so far is Sal getting hypnotized, "I'm a turtle and I'm pregnant" Or Ronnie getting hypnotized. Those were the best.
  21. It's always nice to rediscover stuff forgotten about. Nice find.
  22. Happy New Year everybody. Let's call 2016 the year of the Big Rig. Be safe out there everone. Let the year bring good times, good health, great times spent with friends and loved ones. And....LET THE STYRENE AND RESIN FLY!!!
  23. Lookin good man. Your gonna need another house to display all these trucks and trailers.
  24. The rumor is, GnR, in its "original" lineup to play Coachella music festival, then do a tour.
