  1. It's a smaller shop. But they have a nice selection of kits. I don't recall seeing any green sheet or plastruct. They have some railroad stuff, nik naks, toys. It's a decent shop to stop at if your in the area.
  2. Burbanks is another, it's a bit further down the road but worth the trip. I didn't know about this place. I'll have to check it out myself one of these days.
  3. Pegasus is is about 15 minutes from the track. It's the same Pegasus that makes the rim and tire sets that LHS across the nation sell. If your on the 10 freeway, going west from Ontario, you can see the shop from the freeway. They have a giant RC car breaking through the wall, above the outdoor RC track. The address is 5515 Moreno st, Montclair, Ca. It is well worth the stop. Give yourself a couple hours to walk around. LOTS of cool stuff in there. Oh. If you have time or the desire. When you leave Pegasus, turn east. That will take to a Hobby Lobby. They are not open on sundays.
  4. Thanks JT. Slowly plugging away. I got the grille mounted and step tread plate installed.
  5. I really like that mixer trailer Terry. That's awesome.
  6. I'm not real hip on the Mopar cars, i constantly mix up the early 70s Mopar names. I'm a diehard Chevy guy.
  7. Thanks man. I do the best I can. I love going to truck shows and I live in Southern California. In the summer, the freeway look like rolling truck shows at times. Guess that explains my building style.
  8. Yeah, still here. Haven't gotten that motivation bug yet.
  9. You got that right. I've heard some outrageous numbers for the fines if they run long for any given day. Something like a 100 dollars per minute over the races given curfew time. It's kinda funny. Pomona is pretty much a ghetto, except on the hill and near the track. The track at Ca Speedway has a noise limit. Something wierd like 96 decibels. I was their when they had the noise tests. They had all sorts of cars, blown altereds, alcohol fun cars and dragster, street cars, pro stock. All that. They had people with meters set up in the speedway area, on side street around the track. The guy they had posted on the Cherry ave bridge at the end of the track, recorded higher noise levels from the traffic on Cherry ave than any car that was on the track. That drag strip did get shut down a few years earlier. 1, I do mean 1 resident. Didn't like the noise coming from the drags. Now mind you the drag strip is on the same property as the speedway where NASCAR races. He filed complaint after complaint after complaint. Then finally getting a lawyer to sue the city for noise. They shut it down. Then court hearing this, lawyers meeting that. They came to an agreement. But here's the most ridiculous part. The guy that started it all moved! Before the agreements were made. I heard Ca speedway bought that house and tore it down. But I just could not believe that the guy complained about the drags, that kids off the streets, onto a track. I never heard that the guy complained the NASCAR noise, only the drags. Los Angeles County Raceway, Palmdale, Ca. That's were I first had my car on a track. The land was leased. The sand plant next door owned the property. They decided not to renew the contract, because they needed to make their quarry pit bigger. This was at the peak of the housing market out here. Now I drive by it. It's a giant quarry, with very little going on now. It's sad. I've driven by the old Lyons Dragway in Long Beach. It's a big rail hub for one of the big shipping companies. No sign that there used to be a track there. Can't even tell. Same with the old Irwindale track. They sold the property to build a Miller brewery on it. This is supposedly the last year of the current Irwindale speedway. I heard it's getting tore down to build a Walmart. The cities and law enforcement agencies preach no street racing, take it to the track. Kinda hard to do that when they're disappearing.
  10. Thanks man. They have BMF in all sorts is colors. I got the interior done. It's really basic, generic if you will. The windshield is the only glass installed. The rest will be blacked out.
  11. Just a thought for ya. Since your gonna be casting these wheels here, maybe you can help with this. Here's a link to the thread. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=102500#entry1438558
  12. Thanks JT. I'm back on the truck till I get in the right mind set to do the decals on the trailer. I am using black BMF for the window trim. First time for that. It's going pretty well. This takes a little more time than trying to paint a straight line, but this looks much better.
  13. Nice start. Looks like your doing what I do, get almost finished with 1, then start on another. Paint looks pretty good inside. I'm sure it's gonna sparkle in the sun.
  14. Forgot to answer ya earlier Tom. I think it's because I get in a groove, things start clickin, go right and I don't stop till I'm too tired or have somewhere/something to do.
  15. I found this build on a Mack trucks forum. I'm not a member so I can't give the builders name. But, I'm thinkin of this scheme and colors. The frame will be red as will the rims.
  16. Pert near a roller. Moving forward moving forward. Looks good man.
  17. Stunning, nuff said.
  18. Don't get me wrong or read too much in to these questions. I build for myself, if someone likes it, cool, if not, fine. I'm new to seriously showing off my stuff at contests and stuff. I was just puzzled a bit at the comments of, "no engine detail", "cannot see engine". Now that I know I should have the build opened up completely when they go to judge it. I like Tom's idea of first let it sit closed up, then open in it up.
