Not a lot, but an update non-the less. Set the ride height and stance, hinged the hood, got the engine (427) assembled and began painting...
  2. Very well done!
  3. That thing is beat up in all the right places! Great model.
  4. Good look'n race car. Who's decals?
  5. Thank you, Jarkko. It is fun taking a model and doing something different with it...
  6. Fantastical! How did you bend the square tubing?
  7. I like to use items found more so than store bought detail pieces, although I do use detail master wires. I source a lot of things at the show/swap meets. Hobby Lobby is another great place to find small detailing pieces. I also like to go with what looks best on a model not always true true scale. Try narrowing your search too! Small block Chevy pictures in the search engine will give better detail. And one thing I do, if a wire runs some where you can't see why bother running all the way. Just do what looks good. Any way, I look forward to seeing the progress on your truck.
  8. That's a great kit to work with. Research and part sourcing is what makes the hobby more interesting. Good luck with your project.
  9. Nice pair, Joe. Any more pictures?
  10. In 09 when Revell came out with the all new tool 1969 Nova SS, the gas tank was molded backwards! I remember cutting mine out and gluing it in the right position. Now as I build another of these great kits, I see the tank is in the correct position. Is it possible Revell corrected it's mistake or have the styrene gnomes been at it again? Just curious, have you seen this or any other corrections made after a new release?
  11. I too have found this forum to be very useful, entertaining and fun . I have also made this my one and only modeling forum. (The Jockey Journal being the only other forum I check daily.) Thankfully this forum comes complete with an ignore button of which I have used! makes things alot better all around.
  12. Welcome Shawn, hope to see more of your styrene.

Started this the other day....... Guess what engine is going under this hood!
  15. Now those are some looooooong trailing arms! I like what you are doing here.....
  16. Thanks Richard. No the engine will be in the normal location, feel free to try your idea!
  17. As soon I saw this post, Ii felt the need to pull over! Great job. Unfortunate news on the big D, hope things turn around for you.
  18. Taken from a resent show flyer... "Slammer…Model which does not employ an opening hood, doors, or trunk, and the interior is fully enclosed by a top and blacked-out windows. Judged for visual impact only. Any vehicle." The chassis could be from the kit or a flat piece of anything laying around to support the wheels.
  19. Thanks James! I'm working on the chassis waiting on the body paint.
  20. Where's Clay?
