Old Kenworth
landman replied to Old Albion's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
His website is still there. Has someone taken over? -
I thought you'd find this photo of a B-7000 run by Manitoulin interesting. What surprises me is the triaxle trailer. I thought they were more recent than this.

OOps! That's what I used Ray. What will happen?

These were made pretty much like Alix describes above. The ends are shink sleeves over a short piece of tubing. The shrink sleeves are too thick though.

1950's Construction tires

Thanks guy, I'll send him a note. -

Does this tread exist on the aftermarket? See the outer rear wheel.

Made a scale image of the excellent side view I found on the internet. Appliied the Tall T body against it. Close. Acording to the measurements I had taken of the subject car, the height is correct , the quarter window is correct but the door has to be widened. My frame is right on. The perspective is a bit deceiving but with the naked eye it is dead on. The Tall T fenders are not correct, neither are the splash aprons. However the fenders of the '27 T which donated its tires will work. Even the splash aprons are usable. The radius at the top is not as tight as the Dodge's but it is close enough. I could tighten it up by slicing in a tubing or rod of the correct radius. The 27 T's cowl is also a lot closer to the Dodge than the Tall T. In fact it almost matches the measurements I had taken. The deck will require quite a bit of work. It'll have to be extended, widened and the top made to match the piece of paper more or less. I guess I'll need to send Dom to the shop more more measurements.

Oh boy Eric, you're gonna hate this. Go to one of the Sept 2nd posts on the first page, you'll see the chassis of the car I'm trying to replicate.

The Tall T tires are way too skinny for this application. I have a '27 T whose tires are more appropriate however the inner diameter is smaller. I turned the wooden wheels down so they will fit. Selected a front axle....made by Rolls Royce. The rear axle from the T will be used without the radius rods.

Harry Pristovnik's models
landman replied to Amy P's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Have they been inventoried? -
I'm going to have to talk to them. There are several things that are out of proportion when compared to the photo of the real engine. That is a result of not having stock in all the sizes. Nercessary compromise.

Thanks guys. I'm having fun. Hope fully the intended owner will like it too.

Working at shaping the bellhousing to frame outriggers. Water pump, distributor and coil mocked up. It will all straighten up once glued.

I think that was my fourth resin truck. -
Big Horn with Big Al
landman replied to landman's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
That has been rectified Dave. thanks for pointing it out. -
Fabricated a carburetor. The shortened bell/housing transmission assembly. The Ford engine already has something that could work for the water pump drive. It is just a matter of reshaping it a bit. Made a pulley on the lathe and a water pump body out of solder.

Went through this after looking at the finished car. I'm impressed. I will use some of you ideas to use up the rest of the '67 I didn't use in the convertible. Hope I won't get nailed for royalties.

Modified an oil pan to look like the Dodge's. Made up the oil filler tube out of a trumpet horn. The '25 Dodge has a short, one run intake manifols. This header from the AMT Lamborghini Diablo will provide the making of one.
