  1. Happy retirement. The first thing you'll know is that even if you wanted to go to work, you won't have the time., Enjoy!!!
  2. Love it Jim. Great interior.
  3. I build most of my kits with their engine. But it is a particularly interesting engine, it winds up on display in my engine shop dio for a while then it winds up here: Most of the engines here, on the other hand, were bought individually on eBay.
  4. A Porsche 911 turbo has come in the FTB shop. The complaint: "It makes decidedly un-Porsche sounds". Looks like a complete teardown is needed, maybe a rebuild too. We'll see. I think that perhaps I should build the room which is behind this door.
  5. Somebody's next projects, a 1931 REO and a 40 something Mercury.
  6. Would it be too much to ask to post an overall picture of your dio?
  7. Love it!
  8. After the war of the clamps, there were so many smudges and thumbprints I ended up reshooting the sides. There is still one front turnsignal to shape & paint and to add the license plates.
  9. Love it.
  10. It was a major struggle to get the body halves together. They just wouldn't close. So I MADE them close.
  11. Adding stuff. The old bugaboo that comes here and makes me drop stuff and smear paint at finishing time is back. The same with the one eyed, one horn, purple parts eater. He came and ate one parking light bezel along with the lens and one taillight lens. Have to make new ones.
  12. Nice. Love it. Ken, is there a thread on your diorama background?
  13. The Bill Robertson video.
  14. Wow! Thank you very very much for sharing. The "feelings" and the "reasons" for doing miniatures hit home. I feel exactly the same things. Of course none of us work at your level, but as I said, we "get it".
  15. Light work today. Ground the underside if my wire headlight bezel flat and soldered it shut. Made some lenses out of packaging plastic and used 7mm. Scale production lenses. Don't worry about the apparent glue gobs, that stuff dries clear.
  16. David, I used Purple Power.
  17. Thanks guys. I'm happy you like it. Did a bit of interior work tonight. Started on the undercarriage.
  18. I think I got it this time.
  19. First batch turned out OK. didn't mix quite enough. The hood was great until I dropped it....paint side down of course. Second batch was too thin.
  20. Mineral spirits seems to do the job.
