Thank you sir. I haven't decided on a body color. I thought dark blue metallic or dark cherry red . Although the pearl silver on the Tackaberry truck isn't bad either. -

Bit by bit it is taking shape. Modified the water pump, added the water manifold on the side of the head. Started on the oil cooler. -

Still drillin' and filin' and sandin', until my hands cramped up. then went to the Big Al. Split the DAF's turbo and rotated so it could accept a pipe from above. Made the pipe from the intercooler with solder. -

Took another approach to opening up the grille. Similar to a technique used in woodworking to make mortises, I drilled overlapping holes to open up a slot for the files. Then I GINGERLY file off the rest careful not to eat into the very flimsy frames. -
I agree totally. I tried to start my grandson but everything came to a scrreching halt soon after. I am in the process of building a desk for him. Your daughter got right into it. Beautiful.

Worked a bit on those airlines. Looks like the engine can fit using the donor frame's rear motor mount and rad. the front crossmember will need a relocation to the rear and up. My wife found these colors in her stash. the second one might be close. -

Playing with the exhaust manifold. Adding stuff to the front. It is supposed to end up looking like the photo . -

More work on the engine. Added details to the fuel injection pump I had cut off the DAF. Turned some pulleys. Turned the water manifold on its side, added a flange and a top plate. It will support the intercooler. Added detail to the bottom front cover. -
Not sure why that stayed there from before. Anyway, Went to a Father's Day car show on the weekend with my sons-in-law and my grandson. Boy's day out.

Started rummaging around for something to use as a base for the engine. Turns out the DAF 2800 I bought on eBay along with a few other Euro engines will do fine. It even has a similar front cover bottom. Started by removing the water pump frpm the DAF. Then removed what looks like a water manifold Removed the compressor and injector unit Patched some holes. The DAF only had part of the oil pan. Made up the rest. -

I have some expanded metal mesh. I thought of cutting the grille fabric panels out but this resin is very soft. I'd have to find a way to do it so that there is something left to support the pressure of whatever I'd be using. Maybe starting in the center and working out. -

Started blanking out those square headlights to add round one which will be donated by the '49 Merc. Started drilling some of the 800 or so holes in the grille. easy to get hand cramps. -
I took a photo of my garage and printed it on 11x17 paper. My 30' garage winds up being 15" or 1:24 or so. Then I put the car in front of it and shoot.
