  1. For some reason, I knew someone would ask that. I've given it some thought but obviously not enough. I haven't the faintest idea.....yet.
  2. That was unintentional. Thanks for pointing it out. I will look for door handles, my other '32 has lost his too. If I can't find any I my try making some.
  3. Consider it done. Not much difference from the starting point. Thanks for looking, commenting and the pointers.
  4. It sure is.
  5. Attempted to do what Tulio suggests above but the tape wants to come off, so I dabbed a bit of black at each shutline. Installed the glass. Lost two door handles. I'll attempt to make some. I know they make door handles for cars of the fifties but what about these old girls? I will use the '32 plate from my own collection.
  6. Wow JT, that is a serious garage. Show us what you hide inside.
  7. Body is on the frame. Cut & foiled some small half-round to make the ends of the second roof bow.Trial fitted the roof. Made a pattern for the windshield.
  8. Well, thank you, Sir!
  9. That old toolbox is actually new made with old wood. I loosely copied a Gerstner chest using old mahogany door frames which I had salvaged from my daughter's hairstyling shop when I renovated it. But it is a replica of the classic "hobby" box by Gerstner. I am happy that you thought it was old, that would mean I was successful in my recreation. Here are some better photos.
  10. I hope you guys will forgive me but this afternoon, instead of working on the '32 Ford, I worked on the '67 Ford.
  11. Maybe I should start doing that too.
  12. Great looking AUDI.I have one in the stash. What is the source of the PE kit?
  13. Thanks guys. it's all about having fun, isn't it? Gave it a pinstripe. Thinned out the windshield frame. The headlights were glue crazed. Painted the backs silver and the fronts with floor polish. I may strip them and foil them instead. Stripped and foiled the hubcaps. Touched up the dash & gave it some Slixx decals.
  14. Please combine all the comments above and put my name on them. This is great. It lives, it moves, it changes, it tells a story. Wonderful. You can look at it 10 times and still find stuff you missed.
  15. We can hadly blame the paint. It was likely over 40 years old.
  16. it looked ok at first, great color but it began to react with the primer and became blotchy. Also, it ended up looking grainy which I turned out to be in the paint itself. Looked like dust nibs.
  17. Somewhat better results this time around.....
  18. I like things with a back sory to them It gives them life. Nice work Doug.
  19. Removed the kit's roof bows. Found some toothpicks and small brass tubing. Got some measurements off an approximately to scale photo . Squished & filed the end of the tubing, beveled the tooth pick. Trial fit. Made up a Hidem molding out of 24Gauge wire.
  20. I have to get this: to look like this:
  21. No Wayne. the fenders will remain black. They are good enough to keep. The body will be painted red again but not as nice a red as the Humbrol 20 that I used the first time. I used the brown primer to make the red come out darker. We'll see.
  22. I agree.
  23. Here we go again. Stripped and primed again. The old Humbrol 20 is in the garbage. Please don't laugh.
