Never thought of the shadows. Wouldn't it be strange if the car's shadow's was opposite the bicycles?

Following up on Doug Long's (Kodiak Island Modeler) of using a calendar image as background, I played with a 11x17 enlargement of my own garage. As you can see, I have a lot of experimenting to do yet.

Repaired the broken pin on the rumble seat door.

After several coats of different color fillers I think we have a cowl/hood match. Started working on the engine

That, and then some. And you nailed that paint by the way. It is splendid.

Following Art's lead, i cut both cowls off then Mated them together with a gap that I filled with styrene. A butt weld would have been impossible here.

Two very dusty Thunderbirds have been brought out of storage. They will be cleaned up and will join the display.

Art, that is what I'm planning to do in that gap. I'll bring the cowl to the firewall/hood assembly. However, like you say, changing the cowl back to the windshield might be simpler. I'll try both.

I cut the back floorpan and the back sets right but the front is too narrow for the splash aprons. So I cut them off and will make new ones. Wish me luck.

I think if I cut off the Duesy floorpan right behind the splash aprons, I'll lose just the right amount of height, unless it rests on something more forward. But that looks like it is the culprit.

I made a discovery looking for something on a dusty shelf, behind a picture frame. I had completely forgotten about those two T-birds. They'll go well with the 58 & 62 in the stash.

Saw this neat old pic on another site. Looks a bit like a White Mustang.

How do you do the "mood" pictures?

I've been building off & on for about 60 years. I went through phases & periods depending on what interested me at the time. Like a lot of you here, I find it relaxing. In the 70's I was on the road a lot and I built many in my motel rooms to stay out of the bar.In the late 80's and the early 90's I met a guy at a local car show (he owned a nice yellow 911 and a 356 he was working on). He was a master modeler. It was him who told me about trimming flash, filling divots, decal set and a whole bunch of other techniques. I remember being blown away when he showed me how he printed his own decals. I didn't even know that existed. Of course I've mastered neither of them but I try. Now, the latest period, which started about two of three years ago began when I found a box of saran wrapped models in my basement. I started putting some of them back together then decided to attempt building the 1:1s I own or once owned. I haven't done anything straight out of the box lately. Maybe the next one...

A couple of days ago there was a photo of two 1934 Chevy's on facebook. The photo was taken in my old hometown in 1942. My uncle purchased the subject of this thread in 1943 in the same town. Do you think it could be........?
