  1. Test fitting the tub to the body showed that the new cowl tapers more sharply and the front corners of the tub touch the walls before they reach their intended location. Some filing took care of it. Should be able to think about paint soon.
  2. This is the very top of the trade. Absolutely fascinating. Most of us will never get close to that skill level. A pure joy to watch.
  3. Made some filler parts for the dash ends. Remade the moldings to match the roadster body's.
  4. Landman is my trade, it is what I did. The Mustang in my avatar sits in my garage. Maybe it is time I switched it for my other old car.
  5. Sanded the filler on the splash apron. Put it back together to check fit, alignment, etc.So,so. I have to modify the moldings. Wiull likely sand down the flat molding on the hood, remove the flat I added to the cowl and bring the ones on the body forward with half round. Played a bit with the interior parts.
  6. Nice job Seth. I have a dumb question for you. What is the difference between a jeep and a dog? Let me rephrase the question so it doesn't sound like a riddle. I've heard of those referred to as dogs. Which is the correct term?
  7. First update in 2 weeks. Busy, busy, busy. Body work is ongoing Chassis is coming along. The Lego block is the spacer required to line up the hood & cowl. . Looks like blending the Duesenberg instrument panel to the Rolls/Brewster dash will work
  8. Here's the link. It works out to around $500-600 with some but not all of the accessories. As far as the runout, I hope it says so in the descriptions in the link. I'm too new to know. http://www.leevalley.com/US/Wood/page.aspx?p=43104&cat=1,330,50260&ap=1
  9. A lathe. Hopefully I'll be able to put it to good use.
  10. Terry, what is the source of that GMC and the tanker?
  11. I was a land agent for a large pipeline company for over 20 years. Met interesting people and saw interesting places and things in 4 provinces. Then about 5 years in maintenance management. Downsized out of the company in 2000. Worked as a contract land agent on large and small projects since. Had two and three year spells without work. Currently winding down towards full retirement. In the winter, I am in charge of the local snowshoe trails with a couple of other codgers. We brush and remove deadfalls in the fall and trim the branches above as the snow builds up. This is volunteer work, no pay. The rest of the time I build models and do some woodworking. I used to dabble in old cars, still have two. All I do is maintain and drive them I find the 1:25 one quite a bit cheaper to play with and the parts aren't so heavy.
  12. Like Mark says, this too big to handle alone. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you. If this can help, I have thee friends walking around AFTER colorectal cancer.
  13. Please accept our sympathies.
  14. Nice job Seth. I have a dumb question for you. What is the difference between a jeep and a dog?
  15. Neat. I like the "sag" of the door handle.
  16. Around 20 years ago, in another life, I had the 1/16 cobra in this photo sitting on the window sill of my office.
  17. At a Chrysler dealership where we stopped for gas yesterday. Old and new, both gorgeous.
  18. We're leaving for a few days, so I thought I'd prime the body so it cures well. It will also bring out all the warts and flaws I'll have to address.
  19. Thanks Ken, next up is a cylinder boring machine, the type you bolt to the block.
  20. Yes, I intend to bring the hood moulding up to the upper belt moulding. I also plan to make a cowl moulding out of half round.
  21. Working on the splash aprons. The cross piece at the rear is just a spacer. It will be cut and the ends will hang on pieces of styrene glued to the frame rails. Will add gussets to reinforce the assembly.
  22. Mike, I'm going to take a morning shot of the garage with the light shining directly into it. It should bring out the detail. And when we get a bright overcast day, I'll get one of those. I need to crop the image before printing as it is about 3/4" too narrow for scale. As for the driveway, once I know how deep the setup has to be, I'll "pave" it accordingly.
