  1. I'm going to have to try it.
  2. Would you look at a built one?
  3. I wonder why we have to give so much personal info.
  4. Rob, you can build it eitherway hardtop or convertible. According to the instructions you fix the windshield to the cowl then add the top over it. There are no marks/guide lines in the top to show where it attaches to the windshield header. Attaching it there first would cause a risk of misalingment for the base of the windshield.
  5. Work continues on the engine. A decision was made. The interior will be green & white or cream.
  6. Don't wish your life away guys.
  7. Sometimes a change is like a vacation. Doing what you like is therapeutic. Enjoy!
  8. Pecking away at the engine. Suspensions mounted. I have a big dilemma. the box shows a green and white interior. I thinkblack would look good too. what do you guys think.
  9. Thanks Carl, the lift is 1:25. I got it in eBay. There are quite a few to pick from.
  10. I would ask here: http://www.earlyfordv8.co.uk/
  11. I found it, they were 389s
  12. I just bought a set on eBay.I know they're Pontiac but which? 421?
  13. You'll need either access to one and/or a photograph of all sides with dimensions. You then reduce the engine to its simplest shapes i.e. a rectangular block for the main block, a truncated cone for the bell housing, all the various components are a shape or another. the idea is to reproduce each shape in scale and put them together. I built a 702 like that. Here is the thread:http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/101332-scratchbashing-a-702/ Hope this helps.
  14. I guess I am not cut out to do "paint over foil" . The first attempt (on another model) was a disaster and was scrapped. This one isn't much better. I think I'll stick to the 13/0 brush & silver paint.
  15. With the help of a friend, put the head back on the engine of my '34. I had to replace the gasket. The head is way too heavy for me to play with at arm's lenght.
  16. I bet that Messerscmitt boogies.
  17. Revell tein turbo Cummins (NTC 475?) and Italeri Detroit Diesel Series 60. Bought on eBay, shipped from England for $8. Why does it cost $20 to ship here from the US which is next door?
  18. There are conversion charts around too. Look it up on Google. I'll try and find some. That is what I use.
  19. Added two camshafts and two cylinder heads to the shelves. Added two crankshafts to the crankshaft grinding machine. Added a complete reciprocating assembly to the workbench. Added a cartful of engine blocks
  20. Bodywork has begun. This kit has some serious flash.
  21. I'll be watching and taking pointers to redo this one.
  22. Thanks muchly Mike. Now I recognize them.
