  1. Does anyone know whether the engine in this kit is the 318 or 350? Or are they externally identical?
  2. Love it. I may come to you for pointers on how to build the bench seat..
  3. Put some primer and paint on. Not really happy with it. Sometimes my irresistible urge to salvage everything bites me back. This time it was a very old remnant of Humbrol 20. The seat has the color of leather that I like but it has the wrong texture. will play with that next.
  4. Great rendition of one pf the nicest trucks ever built.
  5. Engine pretty well where I want it. A few touch ups and it'll do. I know, I know, I didn't strip it and file down the seams.
  6. This was the extent of my detailing back then Added the spark plug wire conduits, made a cutout for the generator and a cap for the oil filler. Made a fuel pump.
  7. A friend of mine has this one, 440 six-Pak, 4 speed. He bought it in the 80's, wasn't cheap but still affordable. Now he can hardly afford the gas to run it.
  8. HeyJoe, That started out as a simple basic background dio, a backdrop for photos. Then it took a life of its own. It is a combination of aftermarket resin items and scratchbuilt stuff. You can see how it happened here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/97646-background-diorama-flatheads-to-boxers-engine-rebuilders/
  9. Thought I'd do this one next. It's in fairly good shape, the only thing missing appears to be a cowl lamp. The paint is so-so. So a refresh instead of a restoration, with a bit of detailing.
  10. X2.
  11. Jerry, Bill's comment about applying paint too soon is very much to the point. I don't know how many times I did that and got some "crazing" before I learned my lesson. the same with starting to spray away from the body and travelling across andpast to avoid spits. I think about it everytime I get a spit.
  12. And here are all three of them together, illustrating the development of the Mopar six. 1941 Plymouth flathead, Slant six and the 3.5 Prowler V6. I'm not convinced the stanchions and chain are such a good idea.
  13. Three more engines- a 409, a 283 Fuelie and a Duesenberg SJ.
  14. How about that. I always loved Marty as a singer but never new he raced stock cars.
  15. I am impressed Richard. I marvel at your imagination.
  16. Love it.Great scene.
  17. The second one in this trio. The venerable Slant Six. I see I forgot the alternator adjustment bar.
  18. Nice Oscar. I'm getting ideas on how to do mine.
  19. 1941 Plymouth 6. this is the first of the next trio for the display stand.
