Thanks for sharing your wonderful models. You'll find there are only a few here who come close to the level you are at.And I am not one of them. Truly inspiring.
Here's an old workhorse. except it hasn't worked very hard. It has 788 miles on the counter. It drew duty as an airport tender. It will be restored to pull an old fashioned trailer with antique tractors on it.
No, but now that it is off the truck, there may be a plate visible somewhere. It is either inside his fenced-in area or he took it to the scrapyard which is practically across the road.
OK Chuck. I've been looking for the tank for part of today. The guy who got it works at a bodyshop and I thought it'd be there. But it isn't. I want to take more pictures.
A preview shot. A few touch ups and better photos and I'll call it done. Not much improvement over what I started with but at least it is a different color and somewhat shinier.
I had posted this truck in What cool trucks have you seen... the other day. Today I drove by and they had lifted the tank off the frame spoke to the owner. He sold the tank but is keeping the truck. It has 788 miles on it. All between the airport and the bulk plant. It was the airport tender here for years. He plans to restore it to pull a trailer to display his old tractors. I photographed the tank body and took measurement. I think it might loog good behind my R190.
You're correct Mike, a quick look at my own (driver's side shown here) showed what you're saying. However, it is already in the car and the resin inner fenders have been cut off. Like Fred, I hope you won't be too disappointed.
Worked on the taillight panel I see the foil is torn on the left.
Paint, decals & foiling....done.
Started scratching up some shock tower braces. If they don't turn out, I may make one of those straight across tubular ones.
I'd like it to be like that. But sometimes the parts acquisition comes halfway through the build, causing delays, or worse: I forget I ordered it and it comes in after the thing is built.
With the help of Keith Marks' excellent decals , managed to spruce up the interior a bit.
Body is foiled but not cleared. Forgot to add the rocker panel bright moldings and wheel well moldings. Go figure.
Bought a resin engine bay. Its firewall is devoid of detail. The kit's own firewall is very detailed. What do I keep & what do I chuck?
