  1. Painted the floor of the "shop". Started on one end wall. This is an outside wall. Cobbled up a door "drum" to add relief to the sticker images. Making a first aid case out of styrene. strips.
  2. Looked all over the big Dutch Fokti trucking site and I found the parts manual for the Payhauler. Quickly turned to the engine page to find a note:"Refer to the Detroit Diesel Manual" Then the light came on. My son in law is service manager at a Kenworth dealership. He may have the DD 71 series manual.
  3. Right now it'll be in a diorama as a display item. That's a pretty big engine to put in a road going vehicle but I'm sure it's been done.
  4. I've started on my AITM V16. I have a question about the assembly on the right side with the two filters ( orange arrow). Is that an oil cooler? It has a line to the water pump and what looks like two oil filters.,And what about the other filters up on the water manifold (yellow arrow)? Also, is there one of those articles on detailing this engine? What do you suggest I put in the rear (flywheel?) until it goes in a truck.
  5. Thanks Armando. I'll look that up.
  6. Armando, how did you make the boxes?
  7. Very clean & crisp. A pleasure to look at.
  8. Added a couple of doors (paper stickers). Gave them a frame, glass & knobs for relief. Peeled the sanbdpaper off the floor, added a skim of wood filler and sanded and painted. If it looks "wooden" let me know, I'll try something else. Put some of the stuff back. And, as you can see the equipment for the shop part has started to arrive. The basic tools, here a lathe and milling machine , are from scale equipment & such. The big stuff will be scratch built. The shop itself is cut. From here on in, we add stuff....
  9. That front porch almost looks like Archie Bunker's.
  10. FTB added a heavier delivery truck to its fleet, a Dodge L-700. It was modified to accept the stake body & crane. As well it runs the V10 seen in earlier posts in this thread. In the top photo you can see that the sandpaper flooring is peeling. So the dio was dismantled and a new floor will be installed.
  11. Beautiful clutter. You can almost smell it.
  12. Thanks guys. This the ttird one in a series of FTB shop trucks. The next one will be a tractor pulling a car carrier.
  13. How about other European countries? Do they have retailers? Shipping would be less.
  14. C'est beau Michel. Did you convert it to manual?
  15. Aaahh! If the translator is like some I have seen, your instructions might come out looking like another language altogether. Looking good. Nice work.
  16. Amazing detailing. I am impressed by your dedication to realism. And for the headache, I can see how one would come about with all this squinting.
  17. In my case., it's likely this one.
  18. Cut some timber for the rails. Cut & fitted the stakes. Started with the bottom boards then built up from there. I think it looks odd. But it'll have to do since it is a lot of work. Printed up some decals
  19. Thanks guys. All it needs is the stakes, some decals, the tail & marker lights and we're done.
  20. Harry, it looks like they won't let you get away with the kit's wipers. Whose model is it anyway?
  21. OOPs. Put in PM. How do you delete a post?
  22. Nice job Carl. I may have to do one too.
