  1. One of my sons in law is the service manager at a Kenworth dealership. He stated in the shop as a mechanic.
  2. Mr. Flintstone gave FTB a nice Hot Wheels banner with their order of the '38 GMC. They hung it right above the engine display stand.
  3. A set of towing mirrors has arrived for the shop's 95 Dodge. An employee is getting ready to install them.
  4. It’s not in the catalogue I have. I’ll have to get a newer one.
  5. Added a crossmember right behind the cab. The front tubular one will likely hold the hood hinge.
  6. Who makes one? I don't have one. Gary Wallace?
  7. The 348 has arrived. Now is the time to decide between it and the stovebolt straight 8. Here are some arguments: A 1938 GMC would likely have run a a flathead 6 or a 6-71 or 4-71. So a custom one could easily run a phantom stovebolt 8. If the custom hauler is to be used on today's roads with a load (i.e.taking some treasure to a car show), then it should have some ooomph. Enter the 348, which was a truck engine I believe. I'm leaning hard towards the 348.
  8. Love those tires. Where did you get them?
  9. Measure then cut. Hopefully once.
  10. Loaded up the Hot Rod Lincoln on it to see. Looks like we won't be hauling 59 Cadillacs.
  11. Thanks guys. Made up the curved tail panel using a blade from a blind. Fabricated the ramp support panel and the ramp storage door.
  12. I have two other engine threads. The Allison is in the second one. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/134226-racing-hot-rod-truck-and-aircraft-engines-by-ftb/
  13. I would like to build the 135 degree flathead V16. I've been looking for drawings and dimensions or an engine to measure.
  14. We will be patient if we need to. Like several above it is my first morning stop.
  15. 1941 Chevrolet from Ron Andrews. A couple of generators and goodies from Shapeways.
  16. All indications (read opinions) are that the hood tilts forward. So I started scribing.
  17. Seat of the pants fabrication. Hopefully there won't be too much back pedalling required.
