Thanks alot guys. This one gave me a few fits at times during the build process, and there are a few minor flaws here and there. But I was pleased with the finally outcome.

Howdy guys, Well I finally finished this one up last night. And thought I would take some time this morning to post it up here for you to check out. My idea was to create something that a hand me down young owner wound have hot rodded out for maybe after shool or weekend driving. The wheels and tires are from the revell 32 5 window coupe. I wanted Goodyear G60 tires for the back and the 32 was the only kit in my stash that had them. A while ago I built the newer revell 70 cuda kit, which was a really nice kit to build. The cuda kit cam with an extra hood that I didnt use, so after looking at it for a while, I thought, Hummm, that would look cool grafted into the hemi hood of the dart kit, So I got out the hobby knife, filler puddy, and sanding films and went to work modifying it. I thought it worked out pretty good. Maybe chrysler should have offered it as a option, lol. Anyways here is the results of a couple of months worth of work. Interior complete with seat belts and ignition keys Completely detailed the chassis with brake and fuel lines and e-brake system. Used the hemi dart rear suspension to give the dart a better stance. and also added some scratch made long tube headers and modified the stock exhaust to fit the headers. And then I added front disc brakes to give juniors dart a little better stopping power. The engine and engine bay got a full detail treatment, including a holley double pumper carb. aftermarket pulleys and a power steering pump robed from a revell 69 charger kit which for some reason came with a extra one, not that Im complaining, nor is the dart. The dart got a vinyl top and photo-etched detail kit from the Model Car Garage. The paint is decanted Model Masters Lacquer Sublime Green and clear coated with Model masters airbrushed Lacquer Clear Coat. Still got a little bit of clean up work to do and a spot or two of BMF repair from too much handling during final assembly but it will taken care of before it goes on the display shelf. I'll post a few more pics in a following post...

outstanding work as always Geoff. Sometimes a break away from the bench helps ya look at things on the bench with fresh eyes and renewed motivation. Looks like it really worked for you.

Morning guys. Well the dart is close to the finish line. As promised, this will probably be the last update before the finished pics. Got the engine bay detailed and the front grill and bumper installed. I also added the hood pin cables and retainer clips. The hood pins do work. I'll show that in the final pics under glass in a few days. All I have left to do is to get the photo-etched body script installed and then all the chrome work such as door handles, side view mirrors, windshield wipers, and such. I'll post the pics for today in a few posts since you can only upload 6 pics per post. Next post for final pics of today -

Thanks a lot for all the kind words everyone. I should have one more update, I hope sometime tomorrow, before finishing the dart up. I spent the past couple days getting the engine bay detailed, so I hope to post a update on that if time allows tomorrow. Then I have to get the detail work on the body done, mostly the photo-etched body script and things like door handles mirrors and wipers. when all that is done it will be finally posted over in the underglass board. -
Evening Geoff. Your interior is looking amazing my friend. I totally understand what you mean about having limited time in the hobby room. Its gonna be tight on build time for me as well this year. The wife retires the end of may and I retired 2 years ago. With her being in remission with her cancer, she wants to travel for awhile starting this summer. So we have to start getting the house ready to sell this spring (lots to do on it) and we have to finish getting the motor home ready for traveling.

'67 Shelby GT350 Custom (8 Apr *Under Glass*)

The rear suspension tied in together nicely with the chassis Tim. The wheels and tires tuck into the rear fenders like they were made for the car. Keep up the good work my friend. -

68 Dodge Dart 440 Custom Finally Finished 3-29-17

Well good morning everyone. Got a lot done on the dart the past couple of days. I got the glass in, the sun visors, rear view mirror, and dome light install. Then got the body, interior and chassis all mated together. I got the rear bumper assembly glued into place, as well as the hood catch on the radiator core support. I painted, assembled and installed the Chrysler 7 blade photo-etched fan supplied with the MCG photo-etched kit. I painted and assembled and installed the radiator and fan shroud, and detailed it with a photo-etched rad cap and also removed the molded on over-flow line and added a scratched made one out of black wire. Yes I know that the stock radiator on these cars were semi-gloss black, but I wanted more of a custom hot rod look in the engine bay, so it got painted aluminum with the fan shroud gloss black. In the engine bay, I BMFed the heater fan and because Im using MCG hearter hose material I added a connection point for them on the fire wall. I just like using rubber heater hose over the kit supplied plastic ones. I will be using the kit supplied rad hoses though. I just have the unpainted top rad hose mocked into place for now, basically because I was checking it for fit at the time the pic was taken. Using detail masters full working hood pin kit, I had to add a little plastic to the core support so the pins would sit in a location that worked for the hood. I then added the pins themselves as well as the hood pin plates for the hood. I cemented the chrome trim to the hood. I still have to add the hood pin cables and clips yet, but that will probably get done when I get closer to permanently installing the front grill and bumper. The front suspension is also still just mocked into place for now for the sake of showing you in the pics how the stance is gonna look. I still have a few under car details that need to be added before the front suspension can be permanently cemented into place. Still got lots more to do to tie all the detail together, but there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks for looking. Comments are always welcome. More to come as I get it done
