Hey guys, Here is my third model ever built. Its a Revell 32 Ford kit. It is box stock other than some spark plug wires I made myself. I wanted the car to have a "weekend racecar" feel so I opted out of the headlights and tail lights on this build. The model isn't perfect like all the other great models on this forum but I hope you all enjoy my work and progress! Here it is! : Thanks for looking! -Steve

Hey guys finished my Second model a couple weeks ago and just had some time to post it up. There are imperfections being my second model, but I learned a lot while building it and had fun! Its a 66 Shelby GT350. For some reason this kit was missing the side scoops so that is why they are not on. The kit is all out of box except I tried doing some spark plug wires for the first time ever. Here is how everything came together! Feel free to ad advice! enjoy! First time ever doing spark plug wires, this was my final product Engine was dropped in! Finished interior Finally added some paint to the body! its only my second paint job, and because of that I actually had to strip and re paint the hood because the first time around I was not happy with the outcome. Here is the repainted hood. Much better! First time ever using decals on a body, not perfect, but I'll take it. Also tried giving the car some trim for the first time using a sharpie. Its all coming together now! Here it is, finally complete. not perfect by any means, but I'm still learning so I guess that makes it ok. Thanks for looking! Little sneak peak of my third completed build. 32 Ford will be posted up soon as well! More pictures are below, Thank you guys for pointing out the pictures were sideways, I don't know why my computer decided to that haha but I tried fixing them! hopefully this is much better! Thanks! ~ Steve

Paint Questions and Experiments!

As I said I'm working on this hot rod and wanted that flat black look. I actually used Walmart brand flat black for 97cents and it came out great in my opinion!! Thank you all for your advice along the way! -
Purple Power Dilution?
1hobby1 replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
From my experience, I Used purple power before with great success. But on my last paint stripping event purple power did nothing and after about 3 days of a hood sitting in it the purple power jelled right up like Jell-O. I went out and got a quart of brake fluid from Walmart for $1.48 and within a few hours the paint and primer were stripped. -

That's great to hear! I tried my best to apply their advice! The gt350 is done I just need to re paint the hood. I just painted a 32 ford yesterday. I was going for an old school look and did a flat black and it came out great! I will post some pics tonight! -
This build is on another level. cant wait to see it finished!

Paint Strippers - What to Use?
1hobby1 replied to pbj59's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
So I have had a hood sitting in purple power for about 2 days and the paint has not stripped yet. Usually by now I see some paint coming off but it almost looks untouched. I used dupli color primer and paint 2 coats each. Anyone else have this problem? Might have to give the brake fluid a try this round. -

Paint Questions and Experiments!
1hobby1 replied to 1hobby1's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Since they are already applied and the model fully complete chassis and motor wise should I play this model safe and leave it without clear? And practice on another model? Seems to be best idea I feel. Thanks for the advice -
Paint Questions and Experiments!
1hobby1 replied to 1hobby1's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Been a while but I'm back with another question! So I've been working on this 66' shelby gt350 and I never applied decals on a body before. So today I went for it. Did it come out perfect? No, but much better than expected for my first time. Anyways, the decals are drying on the body and I was wondering if I NEED to clear coat the body with the decals OR can it stay as is with no clear coat? The clear would be Testors spray lacquer. Any words of advice would help greatly! Thanks! -
Perfect, looks like I'm going to have buy a variety of sharpies! Do you have any pictures of how the trim came out? Thanks!
