Finally had some time to get back on this project, the front and rear bumpers needed clear coat as well as the hood. Just finished the hood!

Very nice! Looks great

Way to bring it back to life! Really great looking build.

Awesome save! I have a couple glue bombs laying around from when I was really young, might have to give those a second chance now. Great build and love the color!

Let me just pick my jaw up from off the ground. What an amazing job!

Haha yes. I didn't add the fender flares but the kit has them as well!

A small alignment would be good haha the picture shows it worse than it really is

Really comes out good, I am a fan!

Hey all! Just finished up the Tamiya Morris Mini Cooper today! This is my 5th build and I learned so much on this build and I can not wait to build another. This kit is box stock other than spark plug wires, aluminum exhaust tip (I extended it for a blast pipe style look) and interior flocking. For the "carpet" I used embossing powder for the first time and it worked great! For the body I actually used the LMG polishing kit on the factory plastic mold color and was very impressed on how the outcome was after wet sanding, and finished it off with some rubbing compound and wax. There was definitely a noticeable difference in the finish. Also I decided not to glue the roof on so I can always remove it to show off the interior and then put the top back on. I am almost finished with a Camaro so that will be up here soon enough as well. Hope you all enjoy, Thank you for looking! Not sure why the wheel looks so crooked, but it's really not that bad at all in person! Hahaha Shot of the engine before the interior was added. Some small engine parts were added after this picture as well but hard to see once the hood is open Thanks again for looking!

if you want a great looking blue with a small hint of metallic flake try Duplicolor BFM0340 Royal Blue. Just shot a Camaro with it and it's a beautiful color.

I have a 150cfm bilge blower and it does a good job with over spray, not so good with ventilation. Always stinks up the basement when I shoot pretty bad. Granted I am shooting from a can but I should have went with a much higher cfm fan. Definitely need to upgrade my booth.

A tutorial is a great idea! Would love to be able to add this to my models

Cool, thank you!

Hey guys, to anyone who has built this kit before is there anyway you remember glueing the grill in to place? I've tried using some Tamiya glue but cannot seem to get the grill to stay on. Thanks!

Awesome start! Can't wait to see this one finished!

Today I was able to get the windows in, interior mounted, firewall and the chassis to the body. I have learned a lot about modeling with this build and am very excited for the finished product. It's getting there!
-
Will do! Those were just placed in the slot for the picture. Not glued yet, I will use your advice! Thank you
-
No problem! Hope it works out for you!

Great thanks guys! Even though my build is going to stay without the decals (I just love the color) I will be getting the solution, it's not expensive and I'm sure in the future I will use it. This was a good learning experience though so it's not all negative! I will also keep in mind of the warm cloth and future technique. Thank you everyone!

I have the tamiya ultra thin and it dries clear but, it takes a while for it to dry. Plus it comes with a very convenient cap/brush. So I was impatient, thought I had super glue mastered, and I lost another battle. Next time I'll take my time with the tamiya, or purchase the testors since it's readily available at hobby lobby.

Going to have to give the Future Clear trick a try as I ruined a window today due to super glue getting on the window. luckily I had a small stash of extra "windows" and was able to shave one down to similar size. Wish I saw this thread earlier A lot of great tips here.
