  1. I have a 150cfm bilge blower and it does a good job with over spray, not so good with ventilation. Always stinks up the basement when I shoot pretty bad. Granted I am shooting from a can but I should have went with a much higher cfm fan. Definitely need to upgrade my booth.
  2. A tutorial is a great idea! Would love to be able to add this to my models
  3. Hey guys, to anyone who has built this kit before is there anyway you remember glueing the grill in to place? I've tried using some Tamiya glue but cannot seem to get the grill to stay on. Thanks!
  4. Awesome start! Can't wait to see this one finished!
  5. Today I was able to get the windows in, interior mounted, firewall and the chassis to the body. I have learned a lot about modeling with this build and am very excited for the finished product. It's getting there!
  6. Will do! Those were just placed in the slot for the picture. Not glued yet, I will use your advice! Thank you
  7. No problem! Hope it works out for you!
  8. Great thanks guys! Even though my build is going to stay without the decals (I just love the color) I will be getting the solution, it's not expensive and I'm sure in the future I will use it. This was a good learning experience though so it's not all negative! I will also keep in mind of the warm cloth and future technique. Thank you everyone!
  9. I have the tamiya ultra thin and it dries clear but, it takes a while for it to dry. Plus it comes with a very convenient cap/brush. So I was impatient, thought I had super glue mastered, and I lost another battle. Next time I'll take my time with the tamiya, or purchase the testors since it's readily available at hobby lobby.
  10. Going to have to give the Future Clear trick a try as I ruined a window today due to super glue getting on the window. luckily I had a small stash of extra "windows" and was able to shave one down to similar size. Wish I saw this thread earlier A lot of great tips here.
  11. Thank you! I'm happy with the outcome. The paint job isn't perfect in my eyes, I just need more practice and experience in all aspects of a paint job from prep to priming to wet sanding. This is my 4th build. However, I never expected the color to look this good Lol! It's a great blue. I highly recommend it!
  12. Love following your builds. Everything is perfect!
  13. Love the color combo. Great job, paint looks amazing.
  14. Looking good! Looking forward to seeing how the body turns out with the clear and wet sanding!
  15. Thank you! And yes, here is the booth I've been using. I am no expert but this seems to be working. I've gotten some great advice from users on this forum about putting a booth together. I'm using a plastic bin with a bilge blower attached. Works good with the over spray, fumes are still a small issue since I'm spraying duplicolor from the can, but it's nothing that an open door can not fix.
  16. Shot some clear coat on the body today and it really gives this blue a great shine!
  17. Fseva - yes it's the same kit. Good to know I'm not the only one having some issues with them! Eventhough most of my issue is being new and not having experience Lol! Casey & afx - Thank you guys for the knowledge! I actually was able to peel the decal off and I'm going to leave it that way, clear coat and a polish and I will be able to finish this model. I'm going to buy some solution for future builds. I did some research and wish I knew about that earlier! Lesson learned! I can always build another Camaro down the road. Thank you guys!
  18. Decals also had this look to it,I'm sure it is because I didn't use any solution. Going to pick some up for my next build. I'm not to worried about the stripes on this one because I actually kind of like it without them Thank you for the advice.
  19. So I went to add the decals on my camaro before the clear coat and they did not go in as smooth as planned. There are some wrinkles in the stripes that I can't seem to get out. Will clear coating over help hide the wrinkles at all? Or am I better off taking the decals off the car for a better look instead of wrinkly decals on a paint job. Is it too late to take the decals off? Still very new to model building and decals are very frustrating! Any advice is much appreciated! Thank you
  20. Thank you!
  21. Small update, I have been side tracked with another build I started but I had a little bit of time this morning to spray the grill and add some finishing touches. I was going for a more subtle yet tougher look than original so I went with flat black. Clear coat should be hitting the body this week!
  22. Thanks! It has a very fine metallic flake when the light hits it correctly, pictures do not do the color justice. It's Duplicolor BFM0340 Royal Blue if anyone is interested.
  23. Such a sweet build!
  24. Finally got some time to spray some paint on the body. First paint job in my booth! Very happy with this color and how it came out. Clear coat is next on the list!
