  1. ok, ill try turning the pressure down after I strip this body. With the testors aztek I was told that you did not need to thin it down? I believe I use the #3 tip.
  2. Hey all, So I'm having some trouble with airbrushing. First, I have a Paasche single action model H and use a harbor freight air compressor. I typically spray at about 25psi. I am having some trouble getting a smooth finish. I just sprayed my current project and it came out horrible. I used Testors Aztek pearl blue acrylic. I would like to stay using acrylics for the sake of having less orders then enamels. Should I switch to using enamels and laquer thinner for better results? What at are some techniques you use to get great finishes? Thank you! - Steve

  11. Beautiful models!
  12. I might actually try that first and see the outcome. Won't be for a while because I'm busy with work - but that's going to be my first option
  13. I could try that. I used 3 coats of duplicolor scratch filler primer.
  14. Great, thanks Steve. I'll see what I can manage to try and save this. Thanks again for your advice. -Steve
  15. Wow that's amazing! Great build.
  16. that's good to know, thank you. Lesson well learned and I appreciate your advice. My main question is if it is too late to do a two tone paint job so I don't have to strip the entire model I can focus on just sanding down the top half until it's ready for another color.
  17. most definitely will not do this again!
  18. Hey everyone, I started a 69 Nova, painted this model last week, and let it dry for a few days before I put the hood on the body. Today I went to take the hood off and some paint came with it for whatever reason I can not understand why. My question here is, is it too late to do a 2 tone paint job and paint the upper part of the body where the paint chipped ? l'm happy with the way the body came out and really don't want to completely strip the entire model and start over. I was thinking possibly saving the paint job on there and just doing a black upper. The existing paint is duplicolor with 3 coats of duplicolor clear.
  19. Thank you everyone!
  20. Tamiya makes this kit. I highly recommend it, it was a very fun kit to build.
  21. Thank you! The hood is a textured vinyl wrap I found on amazon so that was not painted on.
  22. Wow! This is so sweet. Great build
  23. Hey all, I was finally was able to put my new airbrush to use! This is my first time ever using it on a complete build. I used all Tamiya acrylics for this kit. Also, I managed to misplace the side view mirrors after cleaning out the work bench. Once I find them I'll glue them on but until then I'm going to call this one complete. Hope you all enjoy
