  1. Pretty cool!
  2. DOH! I just realized the OP is asking about pro TOURING chassis, and I gave a pro STREET answer. Two different animals entirely! Disregard my previous post and listen to someone else.
  3. If I wanted to PS a '69 Camaro, I'd look into using the "back half" of the chassis from the AMT '66 Nova. Should be about the right size. Or, possibly, use the whole Nova chassis and graft in the Camaro (front) subframe. I'm thinking of doing exactly this to build a PS '66 Nova with a big block in it. (And now Ace will tell us why neither idea would work in real life. )
  4. Huh. I have one of those and never noticed that. I'll have to check it out.
  5. Don't think so. I believe you could make such, though, by cloning the headlights from the '69 Firebird kit. Unfortunately, I think those would be a little small for the 1/24 Monogram GTO, but I might give it a try anyway just to see.
  6. My experiences with Sharpie and alcohol have been exactly the same.
  7. Sweet! I dig the extended spring shackles. You almost never see those anymore--model or 1:1.
  8. You should have removed them with rubbing alcohol before you started painting. Not sure if that will solve your problem now, but it wouldn't hurt to try.
  9. To expand: There's a light blue '68-ish Beetle in the parking lot where I work that is patina-ed almost exactly like this--chipping/rust-ish/primer around the windows and other "sharp edges." It looks pretty cool, and this Ghia reminds me of it a great deal.
  10. Very nice job on a pretty crummy kit! Well done and model on!
  11. Very nice, both of them! I especially like the half-top. There was one of these running around my town when I was a kid, too.
  12. Nicely done!
  13. I've looked seriously at their '66 and '67-'68 bodies on their site, and I'm not wild about the roof shape on any of them. The '67-'68 roofs look more like '65-66 to me, and their '66 doesn't really look right. I once saw a guy built a '67 4-door using the roof from of all things a first-gen Camaro and I thought it looked pretty good. I'm going to try it myself for a '67 Biscayne 2-door, and have procured a Monogram 1/24 '69 Camaro glue bomb for an organ donor....
  14. I honestly believe they are in the deliberate process of Photobucketing themselves out of existence. Sure seems like it.
  15. I saw a Newsweek special about him, and also one about Tom Petty. I decided I'd rather listen to Tom Petty than look at him, and rather look at Hef's "friends" for free on the internet than look at/read about him.
  16. Very nice! Looks like something you'd actually see on the road.
  17. What he said.
  18. Been having the same problem with AOL for weeks. For no evident reason, this site will lock up the whole computer for a minute or so, and then everything comes back. Today AOL discontinued their normal browser and is now running only the "new improved" Gold. New improved's ass. AOL Gold is horrible. It's much slower and has far fewer features. Much harder to use in almost every way. I think it might actually be a step backward from the AOL 4.0 on dial-up I was running in 1999!
  19. Maybe a decade ago they brought out a line--it amounted to another whole rack--of WWII and modern aircraft (and some armor) colors for Germany, Britain, Italy, France, Russia, Japan, and maybe a few others. They've been dropping colors out of this line, a few at a time, ever since (along with a few US colors). Now apparently all the "internationals" are gone. Not a huge loss for us here in Model Car World. Testors drops and re-introduces colors all the time. Kiln Red Metallic and Transparent (Candy) Green went extinct for a long time, and now they're back.
  20. Very nice! Is that Champagne Gold? It looks good on this. Model on!
  21. There was at least one topless first-gen Nova, and a topless '65 Chevelle I know of
  22. Very cool, as usual!
  23. I believe this is the one I have. My store didn't have them yesterday, but apparently they're still available online. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Campbell-Hausfeld-FP209499AV-3-Gallon-Inflation-and-Fastening-Compressor-with-Accessory-Kit/12534870

    69 amx

    Very nice!
  25. I was going to suggest grafting on another roof of some kind (early Mustang fastback?) and making it a factory custom/show car, but I think I like the speedster idea even more!
