Big Scale "BigCam" Pete 359

I have several resin 1/16 scale engines from an Australian company that went defunct years ago. I've been told told that they were not accurate. However, i plan to use them any way in future projects . -

Great subject matter. FLD112 will look fantastic. You didn't post in the beginning of your thread the reference truck you want to replicate. What actually truck are you modeling? -
A few new Round 2 kit coming out ......
chuckyr replied to Mr mopar's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Those reissued AMT kits aren't that much less than first issue Moebius and Italeri kits. $25 to $30 for the 50 year old reissues, $45 to $50 for Moebius and Italeri kits. In fact, the renamed Italeri, AMT Reefer trailer and Peterbuilt kits cost as much as original Italeri kits. Ironically, the biggest beef I heard with the Italeri reefer trailer when it first came out in the 1990s was that it was grossly inaccurate and nobody was going to buy it. Now that the label has been replaced with AMT instead of Italeri, I have heard none of that. Do I sense a bit of jingoism among the Model Cars Magazine crowd? -

LOL! I would rather hope for modern new kits instead of antiqued old kits. -

The Italeri FLD 120 is very accurate. The frame, drive line, cab is virtually spot on. Remember, this subject was originally issued in 1995 by Italeri, which would make it an early FLD 120 edition. I'm not sure if the Cummins NTC was an option in the FLD back in the mid 1990s. All of the early model FLD trucks I have seen had the Detroit Diesel Series 60 Mark 1 power plant. The Cummins NTC was standard for the FLC model, which represents a mid to late 1980s subjects. My FLD was built in the late 1990s. I used the Clint Freeman resin Detroit Diesel Series 60 Mark 1 instead of the kit Cummins NTC engine. The Italeri Detroit Diesel that is used in the Peterbilt kits represents is actually a DD Series Mark 2. For the sticklers, to use the MK 2 DD as a replacement in the Italeri FLD 120, a second generation FLD would have to be crafted. ex. integral sleeper and cab, condo roof, etc.
