  1. The master is back to building!!!! Good to see you posting again
  2. She is back apart and I am working on the rebuild with details and paint. I like the look of the rear end with the knock off hubs on You can see my engine detail musings on the paper in behind so I don't forget to do stuff Solved a linkage problem for the rear suspension with brass machine bolt and a nut..will do a tighter photo when I get there
  3. Hi Skip I have been pondering the machined look. An abrasive tip in a rotary tool gets the effect, but it is tedious. Not a fan of decals, even the BMF on the head bugs me a bit. Maybe if the car comes apart easier than it went together the first time and I don't break a whole bunch of stuff, I might be in the mood for it
  4. Ditto from me too Always awesome to see you build, glad to hear you were away busy doing other good stuff for renovations
  5. Soldering the brass 'T' for the fuel line loop Set up for solder of tube 0.3 mm I think it was Rough fitted and ready to be trimmed and placed.
  6. Cool stuff, you are doing great!!!
  7. Thaks Cato, those are well timed words as I have never built like this...entire assembly before detail; very much a step by step builder before this challenge Chomping at the bit to detail up the engine
  8. Thank you Bo, I appreciate the encouragement. It is a bit of a mess still and I am all over the place in sequence, but it is moving forward. I think I have gone far enough into test assembly and that it is time to focus back on the engine block and get it detailed and completed. So, I am going to take things apart!
  9. Wiring harness and plugs, radiator upper tube and block attatchment, back of radiator screen(was missing from the kit)....everything left a little long so a can adjust it on final assembly
  10. Sweet blue
  11. Great paint!! Liking it.... so far so good
  12. Is it a big deal?? Anyways, found some great reference pics of a 1/8 scale handmade model will use these to get some more engine details..like the brass "U" shaped fuel lines I am currently working on Very uniform engine block colour...mine will be a bit more 'used' looking and I will do BMF on the cylinder head to make it shiny, but not machined. and another one..this image looks like it has been reversed to me
  13. No, I am a ways away from the Pochers yet But in a new workspace maybe a Pocher to christen it properly?? This kit has been a real bugger. I have had to alter, modify or outright make a new piece for EVERY part I have touched so far. I coined the adjective "Pocherous" to describe such a kit
  14. Making parts...copper firewall refined, spark plug wiring and apparently a new tube wiring harness from aluminum and copper as the kit harness is as solid as a wet noodle in a wind storm i am settling on black wires as I don't want to get into fabric ones at this scale...1/8 absolutely. A reference engine picture. I am making the up shaped fuel lines now...bit of soldering to do
  15. I figured that was Scott bait. Your solution is a good one
  16. Sanding it is a great idea, especially really thin leather I have a hard time skiving with a straight blade too so use a razor blade in a handle shown on the right here......it is like a potato peeler with a razor blade. You could use a potato peeler, just don't tell your wife! Would be good to reduce thickness with the skiver and then sand to your final dimensions. I am gonna try that It does make a mess!!! Here is a skiver handle on E bay, leather supply store should have them as well http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/C-S-Osborne-No-925-Skife-Beveler-Skiver-Made-in-the-USA-/291465857722
  17. Cool project and some great modifications.... well maybe corrections is a better word Going to follow along on this
  18. Fine upholstery work there, nice stuff
  19. White is a tough colour to spray especially with starting with different colours on the plastic It looks really well done in the photos, nice job
  20. It finished out really nicely Great job!!!
  21. That is a gorgeous build Some of the finest paintwork I have seen
  22. Magnificent build working on Monograms. You have taken this well beyond an OOB kit
