  1. I totally agree with you As a somewhat old fart now, the history of what I am building seems more important and we have the resources to research things so much easier and better. Relive your childhood and educate yourself on stuff that wasn't important to a school teacher's curriculum. Still, towards the end of the build I usually want to set it on fire post up here when you have it under glass so we don't miss it
  2. Keep at it, that is when a build gets tough for me...just want to finish vs minor details to complete
  3. Interesting, love the sound effects of the accidents thanks for posting
  4. This is my best pic so far of the rear Fronts are a bit more obvious
  5. Thanks Mr Skip, some great high resolution pics there and some views I have not seen so very helpful and brake line routing with subtle "safety wire" body wiring Last night making the steering linkage out of brass rod, nut and tube with silver solder and flame I threaded one end of the solid bent rod and tapped a hole in the tube. That allowed me to screw them together, solder them and then drill out the tube and cut it off to form the ring. Hope that makes sense. Black is the kit part using as reference Test fitting onto the chassis Still have to file the shape more and cut the rod to proper length.
  6. Had everything in my head other than the masking tape and the wire twist....will do that thanks
  7. Yes, it needs to be on there, but I will try to make it subtle I remember you using the head of sewing pins for rivets...might look into those as retainers
  8. Yes, one of my other looming issues on this build is just that I have some good thin gauge copper wire that will look the part and was planning to make some copper or brass pins or pegs that go into the body as retainers to wrap the wire around. It is the drilling and pinning these retainers into the metal body that I am hesitant about as well as getting the nice alignment like you have on that Alfa I think I am up to about a dozen broken mini drills drilling stuff out to this point...but a snapped mini drill could be a retaining pin as well I suppose. Have seen a few of these Bugatti T35's where the wires kind of get out of hand and take away from the body lines.
  9. He he, museum quality I am just looking for halfway presentable
  10. Thanks bud. It is a vicious uphill battle it seems. Most times I sit at the bench and wonder what is gonna bite me next. Just gotta push on and get her done I am going to do a fall together OOB Tamiya next to recover...something easy!!
  11. Very cool project, will pull up a seat and follow along For such resin kits, do you find you have to do anything special protection wise for your lungs when sanding, filing or drilling??? I have an old 1/43 Provence Moulage resin kit that smells like vomit when I touch it to sand or file....I wanna wear a full hazmat suit. I put a new dryer sheet in its box and packed it deep in the stash pile.
  12. Hey take it easy on me!! Someone has to be the comic relief, what with you guys getting all flustered and stuff
  13. Wednesday evening modelling..that usually never happens for me! Firewall/dashboard cemented together with brass linkages and then test fitted into body. Cut a strip from the band-aid on my hand to make the drive belt for the tach Firewall fit is poor with side gaps I will need to fill with copper. This wasn't easy and broke some stuff along the way
  14. Maybe time for a new computer...I suggest an I Mac, absolutely love mine. Run Safari just fine on here
