  1. Wow that is a great looking car...GT350 clone in the making??? Similar blue/grey /purple to my GT
  2. I haven't found a big review of the kit and did a few searches as I was looking to buy in 1/16 scale For my point of view, I have a the 'new' AMT kit unbuilt and a glue bomb parts kit from E bay as well The body looks good in coupe form, doors open, hood is removable, have a couple of versions that you can make There is obvious weakness in the pillars since the doors open....working on re-enforcing from the inside with styrene and doing this for a new windshield http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=93860&hl= A hole runs through the engine from side to side for a metal rod 'axle' for the wheels..very toy like the suspension detail and engine detail is minimal, but not uncommon with NorthAmerican kits...it isn't a Tamiya! still lots of room for modification For me it is a good larger scale start to modify and customize as I see fit. Nice if it was a fastback option, but that could be done too I love my Mustangs and this is sweet old school 'stang Shoot me a PM if you want anything further Scott
  3. Thanks for this It is a super read...I am hooked after the first page, have to finish my chores and a gym trip. You are going to make me stay up past my bedtime reading about cars, again That is a great Bugatti history article and really well written. Another reason to visit Europe and tour the museum in France.
  4. Yes, those are the videos I have been watching instead of doing work at the office
  5. Cool stuff man, this is what a modelling site is all about learning how to do it, not just seeing what someone has done. Thanks for this!
  6. Hmm, this is coming out you might be interested if you have a spare kidney to sell http://www.pocher.com/1-4-model-kits.html
  7. I was reading that last night...they were arguing over a lost/stolen type 35 that has resurfaced for auction They sounded very snooty and condescending to each other like a bunch of Inspector Clouseaus Do any of those guys actually own a Bugatti??
  8. I have been watching Jay Leno's garage videos getting myself all revved up for my Pocher builds I really wish they had done some old Bugatti's...these are such cool cars. I am not into the modern Lambo's that Pocher is making I love the comment on the video below where some doofus says he could "eat this" car with his Opel
  9. I found this video for you Cato; it isn't a TC, but similar idea Jay Leno is my new hero
  10. Great work and imagination!
  11. I jumped into your build form the tips and tricks section to see how you did the new windows for this build. Now you have total sucked me into reading the whole darn thing! I really want to commend you for SHOWING how you do stuff, the process and giving sources for materials Too many threads from high end model builders show pictures of the finished result and how pretty it is to get a bunch of gushing compliments from us pions..but we never learn how to do anything So now this pion will take stuff I learned from you and try to rebuild the 1/16 AMT 65 Mustang glue bomb I got from E Bay for $11 Thanks man, Scott
  12. Thank you for posting this, makes it so I don't have to re-invent the wheel
  13. I will play around in one of the Mac apps it will just take some fiddling...I can't stand working in windows, but my work software necessitates having it I was looking at the MG's gauges last night and thought I might either draw or paint them right onto the decal paper as the decals from the kit are a bit sad I know Harry did something with a dash and gauges on one of his builds, will have a look for that too
  14. I am on a mac, but run windows parallel so I can use both I think I need to invest in a better graphics program I have both ink jet and laser printers
  15. This is timely for me I got a pin striping book and some brushes as a Christmas present Will get moving on the One Shot if I can use it in modelling......never thought of that, duh
  16. I need a bit of a tutorial on how to make those decals I have the sheet of paper, but not sure how to get the images properly organized and sized
  17. Thanks Dan, I am just plunking along recording this mostly for myself. There are some amazing modellers on here with faaaarrrr superior skills that I aspire to I appreciate the good vibes
  18. JB, that is the darkest wood I had in a bag of veneers from Lee Valley (woodworking company in Canada) It has a clear floor varnish and no stain on the wood, so it's a pretty dark exotic wood ......Jatoba, Paduc not really able to ID it I used it b/c it was the thinnest of the whole lot of veneers that I had without a lot of big grain that would pull it out of scale Believe me, I like it a lot, not much hope of changing it's colour though Had fun making both of these
  19. I liked the idea of dark contrast to match the edging on the seats, but kid's votes won out Neither came out as nice as I wanted How about I go dark fake wood painted steering wheel???
  20. Dark one....meh Pear one Pear one with aluminum bezels I think we are going with the pear, my kids liked it the most
  21. Working on the dashboard today. This is the inspiration Made two wood dashes. Top one is a solid bit of carved Pear wood. The middle one is dark veneer on ply They are both still a bit wet with varnish, so will wait to make final decision
  22. Ha ha funny guy, you almost slipped that one right past me Sorry, those two Italian beauties are stowed away.....and I will put "fraaagillleee" on their boxes b/c they are Italian and were a major award. (That is a Christmas Story reference for those of the 'slow on the uptake' variety) As for all you anti-chromics, there is no help for you! And it's my party and I'll chrome if I want to I think I better go to bed now, I am deliriously hilarious.
  23. Agreed on both cases!
