  1. The decals came out real good, Ron!
  2. Chuck Boerner makes the Snake's Vega decals for 1/25th scale. OK Mark, now I know which Army car you want to build...how about the Hot Wheels car? Are you talking about the original yellow '70 Cuda? Or possibly the white, flamed version? Or something else?
  3. Whoa! That's very cool, David!
  4. Mark, which versions of the Army car and Hot Wheels car are you looking to build? There were a lot of both.
  5. Thank you Randy. I used Tamiya silver as an undercoat, and their clear red on top.
  6. Thanks Ken! I was a regular (spectator, that is!) at US 30, but my memories are a little fuzzy when it comes to this car. I remember Norm's Challenger much clearer than this car.
  7. Thank you Dave!
  8. Steve and Jim - thanks VERY much! You know I hold both of you in high esteem when it comes to funny car builds, so your compliments are much appreciated! Aaron
  9. George, there's a fellow member here named 1320Wayne who created an instructional PDF on everything you need to do to the Revell 'early' digger-style funnycar frame to lower the body and give it a more realistic stance. PM him, and I'm sure he'd be glad to share his methods with you.
  10. Bill, the front end (and tail too) glue onto the body, and there's a seam there that has to be smoothed out with putty / bondo. The typical funnycar from that era had a wheelbase of around 115 - 118 inches.
  11. Thanks Bill! I agree totally with you, and at least I'll know what to watch for the next time around.
  12. The color looks real good Lee. Nice job Sir!
  13. That looks awesome Ron! I bought a couple of these kits, and I can't wait to tear into one after seeing how yours came out!
  14. So far, so good Ron! I adopted Wayne's lowering method a long time ago, and it really makes a difference in the finished product. Will you be using the kit decals?
  15. Absolutely Bob..and thanks for your comment. The main issues I ran into are the engine mounting to the chassis, and the driver's cockpit / floor pan. The floor pan on mine should've been a little further set back on the chassis before I glued it into place. As a result, the engine mounting plate (attached to the engine) didn't fit into the mounting grooves on the chassis. Therefore, the engine actually sits just a tad forward of where it should be which could've presented fit issues with the interior tinwork and of course, the body. Aaron
  16. Nice builds Bob! Sentimental value for sure. If you don't own the real things anymore, these models are great reminders of days gone by.
  17. Steve, John & George - Thanks guys! Knowing well how respected you all are as builders, I really appreciate the compliments! George, the chute line was just some elastic cord I rescued from the trash. Not real accurate, but a reasonable representation of a bundled chute line. Aaron
  18. Thank you Charlie! Agreed...I never saw a tank like that before either, and I never want to see another one like it again!
  19. Looks great, my friend! Love the finish on those body panels.
  20. Dan, Chris S., Chris R., Steve, Jim, Larry & Daryl..thanks alot gentlemen! It means a lot coming from all of you. Steve, good observation on the tank. I would've really rather had just put the Moon tanks in, but a recently posted pic of this car with the body-up on a FB funnycar group changed all of that. I just tried to approximate the dimensions.
  21. Good job on that! I always loved that car from the first movie.
  22. Thank you Paul...much appreciated!
