  1. I also bought a Shapeways 66 Nova pro mod,but in a 1/24th) scale through TDR.The car arrived in a very odd material and finish. It wasn't resin,or plastic. It was hard but somewhat flexible..And since it's made by a 3D printer. And I had no prior experience with a 3D printers. It certainly took a long time to sand and fill it smooth. It required a lot more sanding and filling, than I thought.Actually I even thought about giving up on the sanding. But I kept at it,and got it as close as I can...I'll post some pics of the sanding and filling I had to do....My car again is a 1/24th scale, while yours is a 1/8th scale.Which must have been an incredibly difficult thing to do.I cannot wait to see your car completely finish...
  2. Nice bbc.Like I said it was stuffed into a 1981 Camaro Z
  3. Actually,This picture was taken about a week or two ago in the same parking lot where the Pathmark was at one time.Dpa will never be the same as it was back in the 80s-90s.It was like every other parking lot was jammed with hot rods. Then like u mentioned, the imports/rice burners, and a whole younger crowd came around, and ruined it for everyone. It seemed like overnight,DPA,became a ghost town..Well now about a year ago, guys started to hang out in the old PathMark parking lot again. And now the old lot fills up on Sat night with hundreds of cars. They are an older crowd, with very few imports,or street racing. So far so good. Now,as far as the Bellmore train station,it too fills up as it has for years,on Friday nights. It did however close down briefly a few years ago, after a tragic accident between a child and a motorcycle. But,it's back, and its hopping. And of course Bald Hill is also around still, and fills up every Monday night. The only problem is,that there are way too many imports, and young punks, and not enough real hot rods...I don't bother going there any longer. It was great a few years ago, when the local FD ran it.But not anymore.Plus they charge $10 just to park. There are a lot of cruise spots across Long Island, almost every night of the week,to hang out with fellow car enthusiasts...I just hope it stays that way.Hot Rods, and good people, the way it should be.I guess everyone grew up a little, and having fun..Lol
  4. Yup,There's that look.Plus John Belushi in Animal House, just because.Ha. "They took the bar........"
  5. Ah ha,that would explain it,I too, never saw the movie,so I never saw the car....Got to admit, that's some Wild stuff.
  6. Take a look at this automobile.I have no idea who made it,or what it's worth. Is there anyone who knows whose car this is,was, the year, the maker, and what the car is worth,if it's still around?I've never seen any type of car like this.you either love it,or despise it.Either was,you have to praise the workmanship of this car.a
  7. Yea,I remember that sad, shocked, and disappointed look on his face.Hell,he loved that car.Lol
  8. I saw this wild car at a local show this past weekend,It was at an old street car racing stomping grounds,,The good old DPA{Deer Park Ave,located in Babylon NY.Every Sat night, since about a year,ago,..I think a local car club has been putting on the show since.
  9. Very cool set up.
  10. So,I'm trying to clean up the car.Its flat black.I really like yours, and the turbos you construct are great. You had a lot of nice drag cars you were working on,it seemed, all at once..Have you done any work on those cars?Iam looking forward to seeing them finished.Heres a couple of more pics of mine. But I gotta long way to go,if I ever finish it.Thanks for the inspiration.
  11. Definitely the best movie car of all time.Until the end....☹️?
  12. Nice job.I was in the middle of building the same model, just not the Birdmans car.But I messed up,and it turned into a gLuE bOmB☹️.I guess I'll try again.
  13. Hey I just got this same email.I guess I'm on their emailing list. The car is nice, but I like the 66-67 Novas the best. Also I would love to find one of these Dodges.Great un marked police car...Very cool
  14. Sanding and filler are done...I decided to ("murder? out") the Nova...But its still a WIP.
  15. Good job, nice car.I really like the motor.
  16. The F40 Ferarri is by far the hottest Ferrari ever made.I have a 1:12 scale F40,but I'm not sure if I should,or could even build it.I don't wanna ruin it.
  17. Great job
  18. Well from LI,the nearest track is Englishtown,or Atco.LI used to have a great 1/4 mile track in West Hampton,(eastern Long Island),but due to sky rocketing real estate prices a few years back, they closed the track, and built houses. So there is a very large group of people on LI,who would love to see another drag racing track open. The guys who run LINADS,are hard at work, trying to do just that.I guess there's a lot of red tape involved. So for now,all we car guys can do,is hope for a miracle ?.There are even local politicians involved, who are trying to get a track open.Lets just keep our fingers crossed...And as far as street racing.Well trust me,there's is plenty of that going on.Which is one of the main reasons,Long Island needs a track.Plus we are all sick of driving almost three hours to Englishtown NJ,at least from where I live in central LI,it's about a 2 1/2 to three hour drive, then back.Argggg??....(((WE NEED A DRAG STRIP.))).
  19. Wow,Some pretty wild stuff.
  20. So,a lot of people would be thrilled if we can ever get a drag track built out here on LI NY.There are really a dedicated bunch of people who want this. They are trying their hardest to get a 1/8th mile drag track built somewhere out on Eastern LI.They throw a great,(and free car show),on Tuesday nights on N.Ocean Ave South. At first light, big church on your right.Make a right then into the church.Thank you to all your guys, and women, who are actually trying, for real,to get a track built.Anytime a Long Islander wants to stretch their car's legs, down the 1/4 mile,we have to cross a couple of bridges to do so.And to me,that sucks. So it's LINADS.They are all over Facebook

    69 amx

Ah,the beloved AMC AMX.I do love these cars..It made a great muscle car...Good job on yours,so far.
  22. Pretty wild roof.Leave it to Mopar to come up with a design like this.A pattern that I wouldn't hang up in a 1970s bathroom lol.Actually it looks kind of like a shower curtain,I once had.But on the Dart,it definitely looks cool...
