  1. Yes so you made the body the way it is on the model from the '80 Ramcharger? (SADLY however thats a mis listed model too, its actually a '79 not an '80!) Revell calls it out as an '80 but the molds to that truck go back to the years of I believe it was Monogram's work!
  2. Thanks Darren..... Yeah I got to get back to the bench and be be building not working on other things..... LOL I do have some good ideas yet to be carried out on it..... Stay tuned!!!!!
  3. Where on earth did you find the grille? AND the body?
  4. Thats SWEET any close ups of the grille? As that grille isn't a "common" one for 1/24th scale (which is the scale the truck is!) Speaking of, the body, thats NICE where that come from? OR is this a Die-Cast model?
  5. Yeah, I looked through both Hobby Lobby as well as Michael's too. nothing small enough for the wire.... Or well, that would look right....
  6. Jon, if you find a older MPC Shelby Charger from the mid to late 1980's that kit comes with those wheels!
  7. Yeah I have to say people get sick of that...... make a build thread and THOUSANDS look but not a single reply..... Thats why I don't post much anymore..... I try to participate and with no response its like talkin' to yourself..... Gets old quick! AND he was a new member too!
  8. Good GAWD that paint is PERFECT!!!!! LOVE the car as you know Steve.....
  9. Yep Krylon is the culprit here..... its reacting with the Duplicolor! (Not adhering) That paint, UNLESS your using it as a base, and then scuffing it to be a flat, to then spray over it with the SAME color, doesn't play well with others...... ALSO it can react to the adhesive on the BMF too! Believe it or not, it DOES...... Somehow that little adhesive leaches into the paint under it, as there had seemed the last time I tried using a adhesive backed stripping, on Krylon paint, lifted as the stripe was trimed and the trimmings removed, took the paint with it! So a couple things could be an issue here, BUT Krylon paint is the start of both issues! I'd almost BET money I ain't got on it...... Reason I'm trying to get rid of as much Krylon paint as I can that I have..... It doesn't do well for craft uses.....
  10. NICE Work on those seat mounts!!!!! Those look great man!
  11. NICE work on that seat mount and frame work and the idea of the see through lingerie covering is gonna be AWESOME!!!!!
  12. Pat, That sure is looking GOOD!!!!! NICE repaint!!!!! Going all red I take it (using Krylon) and then just BMF'ing all the trim? Thats gonna look some sharp!
  13. Pete, Remember I'm only "trying it" to see if it will work. I plan to use a OLD steering wheel for starters..... we'll see if not then I move on to something else!
  14. I've gotten from BnL before, and has been good......... VCG I can't say, I haven't bought anything from there yet! I do resin Mopar stuff tho, so if ya need any Mopar PM me! (I'll work out a trade with ya!)
  15. I'm NOT Pat, but it looks to be Purple Power Cleaner, or a derivative there of..... HEY David!!!!!
  16. Pete, Nope its 1/25th scale..... BUT Bread ties are WAY MORE narrow then trash bag ties..... Being bread ties are more narrow, I can cut them to fit..... And then make sure they over lap a bit. The ones your thinking of are garden ties (green) and pretty wide about 1/4 inch, then you have the others that are black for trash bag ties, and those too are about 1/4 inch. Bread ties are under 1/8th inch I do believe and have a tighter gluing around the wire and its a bunch lesser gauge of wire too which will allow me to trim the sides down....
  17. I get the 404 error on PM's as well as simply replying to a thread. with or without added hyperlinked pics..... My inbox for PM's is only 33% used. So I'm good so there is something going on with the site! I also get the weird "this posting can't be found" which I read just before trying to post to it, most times with this one is my OWN threads too!
  18. I know I want at least 2 of 'em! -The Poly-Head 318's..... The older Hemi-Poly's, they looked like this: Thats one of the old Hemi A block that had the Poly-Heads, installed for a Plymouth, that has yet to have the Hemi-Head accessory added to it yet, as they were made to be interchangeable with the old Hemi A blocks. I also posted one that has a really good shot of the 2 barrel intake and its runners.
  19. yeah? Its green I do believe (I've seen it somewhere local to me too in the last couple weeks!) -I'm being stubborn tho, I'm gonna look for black bread ties.... as I know I've seen them too!
  20. Yes the MPC version was thee only body and kit for it. but when AMT came about to Ertl, they did a lot of clean up molds to make the older MPC kits better.. HOWEVER theres something a lot doesn't know.. the MPC '70 Coronet Super Bee, was repop, with a cleaned up MPC mold, and had NEW molds made by AMT-Ertl to make the '70 Coronet Super Bee "Pro-Street" easy way to tell? the NEW parts are in BROWN/Tan plastic..... Those ARE AMT's designs added to the existing GRAY plastic, that were from MPC 'smolds that AMT cleaned up! -Then reissued as a AMT-Ertl kit, that was BOTH companies molds old ones from MPC and new ones made by AMT! Today, its ALL reissued by Round2. not the Pro-Street kit that I know of, most of the '70 Coronet stuff, is repops from the old MPC molds and by the ones I have (blue car on the box with MPC as well), needs cleaned up again as the flash is horrible! BUT, so far on one of them (I have 4 of those kits one unopened) The molds needing cleaned up to remove all the flash, BUT the parts fit together pretty well otherwise just like those did back in the '90's from AMT from when they cleaned up the molds from MPC!!!! Those MPC molds have to be pushing 40 years old!!!! -If not I bet there close!
  21. Ben, Thats just it, I ain't got no clay that will harden.... so I can't do this one, as I'm trying to go with materials I either have, or is easy to get. LOL I EVEN have a couple neighbors looking for different products! Thanks for the idea! IF I find some I might try that one..... Right now I just got molding clay that doesn't "harden" and can't be painted.....
  22. I'll mention here, I have found years ago that the company MPC done a lousy job on a LOT of kits..... THEN MPC was taken over by AMT or "MPC" became part of Ertl..... WHEN that happened I noticed that the AMT stuff that Ertl actually made was pretty good fitting kits!!!! At least from the late '80's into the '90's the AMT stuff was pretty good quality stuff, NOW granted, I'm NOT talking about the AMT stuff that was merely "re-branded" stuff that came from MPC...... Make sense? I'm talking about the actual AMT stuff that Ertl tooled to be made, that stuff was pretty good! -I just replaced a few of those kits I had way back when that I lost in a fire, and they seemed then to go together well, as the same kits under "Round 2" do today..... I've got the '70 Coronet Super Bee from AMT, that was a RETOOLed kit from MPC and then the MPC kit as well (original) and then the '70 Coronet Super Bee Pro-Street kit that was a AMT design, ALL based off MPC '70 Coronet Super Bee tooling that AMT under Ertl cleaned up or simply retooled the molds, and made the AMT version I'm referring to here as well as the '70 Coronet Super Bee Pro-Street kit and those AMT kits go together like a dream..... The MPC kit thats a repop from Round 2 thats of the '70 Coronet Super Bee, those old molds need cleaned up again! (I don't however got the newest release from Round 2), of the '70 Coronet thats plum crazy purple on the box..... I have over 10 of this car right now (It is afterall my FAVORITE car!)
  23. Brandon, That Satellite is lookin sharp in black! NICE work!
  24. Thanks David! Yeah, just a 1/2 a break from all the car building, plus as if you look at my avatar, I have my "resin" name in it, and plan to use the 3D version if it turns out well for the avatar too...... IF the eye winks, as I want to make one blink, my avatar then will be a GIF file..... BUT that too, we'll see, I'm not sure how far in over my head I am at the state of completion it is!
  25. Andy, Yeah I looked for the smallest diameter "gimp" as I could the stuff doesn't work very well for anything small....... BUT yes too, thats the kinda look I need! Fishing line, is completely round, BUT might be worth the try! I need a BLACK leather-looking wrap, with BLACK "gimp" type line... So far the best sounding idea has been from Carl "Slusher", with the bread ties! I just have to find some, all those in my house right now are the "C" clip bread ties! I'll be keeping up on this thread a bit and all thats said and what I find and what looks best! I just need some ideas to get this one right and other ways of thinkin' of what might or will work, is the key! Whatever works and looks good and is near scale to what I'm trying to do, is what I'll be going with! -I have this same thread posted on a couple forums to see whats all said and sounds as this it work the best! So....
