  1. Nice! I love that color! Tim
  2. Thanks fellas! This one is "Under Glass" now. Pics are in that forum I just posted to. Tim
  3. This one gave me a couple of fits with the paint, but its presentable. Another one in the books...
  4. Another beauty, Steve!!! Tim
  5. My nightly update... Most of the exterior is done. I think I have wipers, door handles, door locks and badges to put on tomorrow. Hopefully it will be finished tomorrow night. Tim
  6. What Danno said, always (if you want to wetsand and polish) clear coat pearls and metallics. Tim
  7. Allen - That's funny! lol I just searched for a bunch of reference pics and then went with what I thought would look cool and unique. I wasn't totally sure that they red pearl and black two-tone with a tan interior was going to look that good, but I went with my gut and stuck to my guns and I think it will turn out nice once its finished. Thank you! Tim
  8. Freaking beautiful!!! Tim
  9. Last update for the night - Engine bay is complete! Tim
  10. Another quick update... Before laying down the BMF on the side trim, I tried out the decal that came with the kit and actually like it enough not to BMF that area. The edges are silver and the inside is white. I think it breaks up the two colors pretty good. I'l start the BMF process on the rest of the window trim tonight. Tim
  11. Mark, my wife bought me this booth for Christmas with the LED's and it is fabulous! Does everything I need it to do in order to paint during the winter. The only caveat is that I only use acrylics though. I have sprayed lacquer primer with it, but not very much. Depending on how much you paint, you will replace the filters often, but they are really cheap. I lined my with cardboard and covered the LED's with clear tape for easy cleanup after 10-15 paint jobs. I have had no issues whatsoever, so if you want to use acrylics exclusively, this will work perfect. Tim
  12. Impressive build!!! Tim
  13. Slowly but surely, making progress... Kids Spring Break this week, so we have been out doing some skiing. I finally got the interior buttoned up. I didn't go crazy on the interior, I never do, but one day I will. lol Here are a couple shots. Go easy on me... Tim
  14. Unfortunately, my spray booth pulls in dust. That's just a part of painting everyone will endure. It's not that there is a lot of, it's just that there is a piece a little bigger than I'd like to accept, but it will be my trademark on this build. Lol Tim
  15. Sometimes you make things worse by trying to fix the simplest things. I stripped the hood to repaint it and wound up with more dust than I started with. Oh well... its going to stay like that! I am wrapping up the interior and should have some pics tonight. Tim
  16. James, I'll be following along as well. Tim
  17. The hood had a couple of spots I didn't like, so I stripped it and its in the paint booth now. I sanded the body down pretty flat, but at going to give it a few more coats of clear tonight to fix a couple of spots or dust. I hate dust! Tim
  18. Thanks fellas! The springs are made with wire by wrapping it around a round piece similar in size to the spring and number of coils. They are rather simple, you should give it a try sometime. Tim
  19. I finally got to shoot some black and then clear tonight. I wasn't sure about it at first, but I think once the trim is BMF'd that separates the black and red, plus the chrome rims, it will break it up nicely and the color combo should look good. Prepped and ready for the black base coat. 3 coats of black base coat, then into the dehydrator for 15-20 minutes or so. Just before the clear coat went on. This one got 6-7 total coats of clear on it, so it should be glass once its wet sanded and polished. It's hard to really get the sparkle and pearl out that's in the red, but it really is a cool color under the light, especially sunshine.
  20. Looking good, Steve. You can never lay the clear coat on too heavy! Tim
