Bondic is similar to, if not exactly the same as, light activated dental resin which is used to attach veneers, caps and partial bridges. If you check online, you can find the stuff.

Nice, albeit a tad small. It fits on a shelf. The most expensive (and, by far, the largest) kit I bought was the Soar Art 1/35 DORA Super Heavy Railway Gun. This set me back almost 900 clams. Not only is this huge (The box is nearly the size of a wall mounted a/c and the kit is over 7 feet long when completed), it weighs in at almost 60 lbs and the gun tube is about the same size as the barrel on my Mossberg 500. I developed a hernia hauling this beast home from a hobby shop in Manhattan to my home in Brooklyn. And no, I haven't started it yet. I might have to apply for a building permit first.

Avoid baking soda. It absorbs moisture and tends to develop a yellowish (Frank Zappa, anyone?) color over time. You can use Woodland Scenic's Winter Effects.

You can also use microballoons mixed with the resin, or with two part epoxy, and spread the mixture on the inner sides of the thinned out areas.

U.K shops won't send any paints stateside. No if, ands or buts about it. I also build 1/35 military vehicles. I wanted to order RAL and DKM paints from White Ensign Models. The company won't do it and they post an explanation about the silly EU policy regarding dangerous, environmentally unfriendly chemicals. The U.K. Postal Service will confiscate and destroy the paints. You end up SOL: soooooo, no paints, no refund. Some other countries more amenable to sending oil based and lacquer paints are Czech Republic, Russia and Ukraine. So, It's worth the trouble to check out hobby shops in those countries as sources for neat BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH which is otherwise unobtainable from vendors in the EU. As a side note, you can save a ton of mazooma ordering from Russian shops. The Ruble is tanking against the dollar which means you, the discerning customer, can save, even with shipping factored in, anywhere from 5-10 bucks on the same kit available in the States.

I did some checking around after reading your thread and discovered that SpotModel will ship Zero Paints stateside. Can't hurt to give'em a try.

@ Sam, the first place I checked was eBay. Unfortunately, the lights and sirens for fire trucks differ from the types used on patrol cars (NYPD types, at least). I did save the pages for future reference for when I get around to building a 60s-70s era Pumper. You're absolutely correct about the earlier GC-13000, Greg. I remember that being the case and the earlier kit is what I would've looked for if I had no alternative. Thanks for the heads up, Mike. I found the thread. Custom Squads makes a CS-SR/BR3 (NYC Vintage) Siren/Rotator package which is exactly what I need. Thanks to you all for taking the time to reply.

I'm planning to build a NYPD RMP, circa 1970, using the AMT 1970 Ford Interceptor kit. The main problem with the kit is that it doesn't have the correct light/siren combination. I need the Federal Beacon Ray 175-H High Skirt Light and Federal Pulsator Siren as used by the NYPD from 1964-70. The Jo-Han GC-1300 1968 Plymouth Fury Police Car contains the correct parts; but, I can't see paying upwards of 75 bucks to cannibalize the kit just for those parts. So, are there any A/M companies which produce these particular items? I've searched every possible site, including evilBay, with nothing. Any help will be appreciated.

Nice job on the RMP. The 9-4 just happens to be the precinct in my neighborhood, the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn. BTW, you need to redo the RMP/PCT info on the left rear quarter. You applied it as "PCT 94".
