  1. Hi, I've been eye balling the Scale Motorsports scriber set but there shipping is absurdly high being almost the same cost as the product itself. The dental scrapers seem like they may work and look similar to solutions offered by BMF and MicroMark. Has any one used dental scrapers as panel scribers? I've used the UMM scriber UMM-01 model and was also looking at there newer UMM-02 version which is smaller.
  2. Hi, I went ahead and bought the Dspiae tweezers as well as the Tamiya HG angled ones that I used to have and will post a comparison on both for fun. Hopefully you will find it of some value. Being a bit of a minimalist, I prefer to have fewer really really good tools then many average/good enough tools.
  3. Hello and thank you. Based on tax and shipping, eBay was the cheapest. While the initial cost was cheaper, once fees+tax+ship was added, eBay became more attractive. Amazon didn't carry them via Prime.
  4. Hi, Does any one have a good cheap source for DSPIAE products?
  5. Hi Mattias and thank you. My loss was pittance compared to others and as such feel a bit embarrassed about having brought it up now. But I felt compelled to post it for some reason.
  6. Hi Bruce and thank you. Paul Fisher did a wonderful job in producing the 908 resin kit. Poor Paul, his work shop and home burned down! At least I still have my lively hood. http://www.fishermodels.com/
  7. Hi Atin and thank you. I must say that I do miss those kits. The 959, rather 961 was not a bad kit and I kind of liked the molded in windows. The included masking worked superbly and I would recommend it. The tires and wheels were from Scale Production but I combined the tires and wheels as follows; 18"-19" slicks; SPR24002 18" Speedline Cup; SPRF24052
  8. Hi Brad and thank you. That's horrible about your ladies place.
  9. Indeed, some great photos here. Happy Thanksgiving to an order of magnitude.
  10. Hi David and thank you for the kind words. I plan to do a fill detail Dino 206GT some time in the near future. Man what a hot car.
  11. Hi Brent and thank you very much. I was looking them over and thinking what to rebuild and even though I loved that little 356 dragster, man it was hard to squeeze the engine in it.
  12. Hi Steve and thank you for the kind words. For some reason i thought my builds were for sh%t. I'm happy that they seem rather well received.
  13. Hi David and thank you for the kind words. Indeed I'll be ok, some of my friends lost way way more. I've some horrible stories. OMG, finally some one likes the Opel
  14. Hi and thank you. I miss that Howmet and if i were to do it all over again, I'd stay with the black and white scheme but get a better engine for it. Perhaps something from a jet plane model kit.
  15. Hello mark and thank you. I was really hard on myself about those kits I built and thought that I did a mediocre job. Looking back however, I did a pretty job job after all and looking forward becoming better.
  16. Hi Bill and thank you very much. I'm taking care of the rather hectic honey do list as we speak and to be honest, we can't wait until Friday Tomorrow will be a day meant for plenty of Slivovitza if you catch my drift. And if I may recommend one, the Manastirka brand is the only way to go. The nice thing about Slivovitza is that it can double as a paint stripper and degreaser all in one.
  17. Hi Tom and thank you. I'm actually on the other side of the country right now and doing fine. I should be able to post my current project soon.
  18. Hello Scott and thank you for your kind words and offer. I'm hoping to build a full detail version of that Dino 206 Competizione. It's such a wonderful car and I think the Fujimi kit is a nice base, not to mention the only 206 option for us And thank you for sharing your story.
  19. Hi and thank you William. I warped the body a tad trying to dry it fast as I used a wide setting on my Tamiya stand.
  20. Hello every one. So I'm having a hard time choosing tweezers. I had a pair of the Tamiyas; HG Straight and HG Curved which were awesome. I could pick up and hold the smallest of PE etc... They are a bit pricy, actually very pricy but I've found in life that one either buys nice or buys twice. I'm taking this opportunity to hopefully upgrade my tool set, but some stuff I had was already top shelf. What's a fantastic set of straight/curved tweezers?
  21. Hi Dale, Thank you for the kind words. Hitting Michaels and Joanns with my wife today, with coupons of course. Should be fun.
  22. Hi Brian and thank you. The 959 had a lot of cool after market fromage on it. The wheels/tires were from ScaleProduction.
  23. Hi Christopher and than you for your kind words. I was able to save some unbuilt kits as I had a good sized box at work. I was showing them off to a colleague and so the timing happen to work. out.
  24. Hi and thank you Dan. The 959 was my last build and feel that I'm progressing. The Alclad Pale Burnt Metal turned out pretty nice. I'm hoping to start building and gonna start using some Micheals coupons for supplies. Too bad they don't carry Tamiya warez. I think Tamiya has a lot of wonderful tools, building materials etc...
  25. Hi Pete and thank you for your kind words. Finally some one likes the 356 I happen to have my other in progress memorial chappy at work will hopefully get posted in a month or so. And being Cali, there are no shortages of used cheap surf boards in good shape so I should be able to replenish my quiver w/o much difficulty. During the fires, surf was firing and the water temps were in there mid 70's.
