Hi Joe and thank you! These look very nice and have excellent reviews on Amazon.

Hi, Another seemingly fine product. I like the triangular rulers as they give me more leverage so that the ruler will not slide/slip. I haven't found a simple non scale based metric/standard triangular metal ruler. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/5516-aluminium-alloy-scale/

Hi, I haven't tried these but they seem awesome;

What do you think of this air compressor?
aurfalien replied to Monty's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Hi, I'm fairly unhappy with compressor options in general. So when I am able to, perhaps mid next year, I plan do build my own, something like this. In fact I'm going to use this video for reference; -

Hi, I had and can vouch for this one. https://www.amazon.com/Airbrush-COMPRESSOR-Training-Published-Exclusively/dp/B001738DXU They are not fire proof However I did change out the gauge due to personal preference. -
Hi Jeremy, I'm very happy you and your son are doing so well. Thank you for the initial post and updates. He's a tough kid, your son.

I've used this stuff for clear parts, works very very very nicely in certain applications.

Hi, Scotch makes a quick dry tacky glue which I'd love to try for test fitting and mock ups. Unsure how easily it cleans up/off. There is also Aleene's Tacky Glue and The Ultimate by Crafters Pick which I've heard good things about. You can get these at craft stores for sure. I've used Micro Liquitape which was very cool. But it didn't clean up too easily for me. It did remain tacky for days though which was cool. In addition, double sided clear/thin tapes can work on some items for temporary applications.

Well, not that its' not a good idea to rake them for this reason. But based on my first hand experience, it's the larger shrubs/chaparral/very tall grass which is a bigger problem. And of course pine and palm trees. That is unless you've large piles of leaves. However firefighters usually clear down to the dirt as part of seasonal maintenance.

Hi, I get these Pinterest suggestions daily, all being car related. A recent one that jumped out at me was this one. Man wouldn't it be awesome to have it in 1/24 kit form?

Hi, Well I enjoy it and go a step further with my lawn, I level it. I got this lawn leveler a while back and it's awesome;

Hello and thank you Bill, Douglas, Lee. I sent an email to them as local post offices may not be aware of all policies that cover disasters, especially ones declared as such by our government. It's funny, Frontier which I used for internet also billed me for 2 months being Nov and Dec even though I called them before hand to end services in Nov 10 due to the fire. They basically said to contact my insurance company to get reimbursed. So I called my credit card company to contest the charges which they credited me. So frontier can deal with them. The really funny thing is this email after they told me to take a hike;

This is why you get one of these; https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-80-Volt-Lithium-Ion-500-CFM-125-MPH-Brushless-Cordless-Electric-Leaf-Blower-Battery-Included/50408240?cm_mmc=SCE_PLA-_-SeasonalOutdoorLiving-_-Blowers-_-50408240:Kobalt&CAWELAID=&kpid=50408240&CAGPSPN=pla&store_code=497&k_clickID=go_625671256_51506501251_217468584469_aud-299487635210:pla-350178052302_c_9010496&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-_Lb3ryd3wIVxIizCh17wg5eEAQYAiABEgIAVfD_BwE They will blow your arm back. The United States Postal Service.

Hi, Long story short, I bought something off eBay which was shipped to my address in California that burned down. I had enabled forwarding of all my mail and now am being asked to pay $10 for the forwarding of a particular package. Calling the United States Postal service got no where of course. It's not like I asked to have my place and all my stuff burned so it's a bit of insult to injury.

Thanks Bill, I corrected it. I asked to verify that it is indeed .046" and will report back. -

aurfalien replied to aurfalien's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Hi and thanks Bill, Joe, Mike and Tom. Your replies were well taken. Looks like I'll most likely get the low profile machinist square from MicroMark. Finalizing choices on nice heavy straight and L shaped rulers. I'm seeing some heavy gauge black ones that seem real nice. In the end, buy nice or buy twice and I usually do the first. PS Kind of considering this as a kill two birds with one stone. Its got metric and standard as well as being .046" thick. -

Well, the issue with Google searches is that it doesn't really give me feedback of ppl I've come to know here. Google doesn't give you reputation scores. That counts for a lot with me. So your feedback is more valuable then some stranger on the Goog. PS And I'm not being overly cheap, just trying to minimize cost of having to buy everything all over again. I mean at this point I don't even have any glue.
