  1. Hi Thomas and thank you for your kind words. Did you like any of my builds I've had some amazing and incredible tools from Germany. Do you have a source of German toolers that I can peruse?
  2. Hello every one and thank you very very very very very very much for your kindness and your looking at my builds. This community is AAA class and the only one I visit. I don't feel right asking for anything free or accepting them. And while I did loose many unbuilt kits, I'm a tad more upset at my lost tools. But I am going to replenish with even better ones. Would any one happen to have connections with Dspiae? Hoping to score a discount on there wonderful warez. Hi Russell, I was a renter, albeit a stupid one w/o insurance. The owner is packing it up and calling it quits. It was nirvana while it lasted. It's odd, I've a feeling the next hammer to fall will be the long awaited earthquake. I'm a Cali native and just have that feeling in my bones.
  3. I was hoping you meant the 356 dragster
  4. Thank you Rob. I assume you mean the 908.
  5. This one turned out far far better then mine, well done. The Fujimi kit is better then the Tamiya one.
  6. Thank you sir. It was a serious struggle for me. The Vallejo blue is brilliant as is all of there colors as they are heavy pigmented.
  7. Thank you for the praise and kind words. That Fisher was my very first model and a huge struggle at that. BTW Fisher burnt down in the Paradise fire. Horrible!!!
  8. Thank you Michael. Well, sometimes one learns to walk with a limp.
  9. Thank you for such kind words Aydin and Ron. What did you all think of my builds? Is there a favorite? I was gonna re do the engine in the 356 dragster and make that thing a show winner.
  10. Hi and thank you JC. Yes, I'm flying out now.
  11. Hi, I've lost all my built kits, so I thought to re post them here. I still feel very new to this hobby and will post in chronological order from my very first kit to my very last kit. Hoping to build something over the holidays. 12. Hi, I've been at this project for far to long. Striped everything at least 4 times and in the process scarred the plastic. I was able to cover up my crimes via many thin layers of filler/primer and sanding. And I'm totally unsure when it will be finished as I was in Malibu and I no longer have my things. I did grab this kit and a few other items but forgot my first memorial build from last year. At least I have pictures. At any rate, here are some in progress pics of what was once the property of CrazyEd, my dearly departed friend. It will look better once assembled but I was compelled to post something. Unsure if you can make out the fuel lines or ignition stuff, or even the tiny rivets that I did individually. The transmission is from Shapeways which required a lot of smoothening out and the engine is from an AMT parts pack. I used pleather for the seat inlay. I am very very happy with the paint, even though it's plain old Tamiya Bright White, it looks very very smooth and proper. Thank you Donn Yost for putting out your videos. Sorry ED, it will eventually get done.
  13. Well, I'd rather not say and just focus on our beloved casters loss. I can't help but tear up for them. But lets just say based on my convos with local fire fighters and what I've seen first hand, don't be surprised if over 1,000 structures are gone. I wont be posting any builds for a long while. In fact I may not never build again, I'm just unsure. And I've never heard smoke/fire growl at me before. You know, all the telco copper/fiber is burnt down not to mention power. I don't see any recovery for years to come. Nothing will ever be the same, so very tragic! I've lived through all the fires, earthquakes and mud slides here and have never ever seen this sort of carnage before. Now up North where Paul and company got rocked, they are in way worse shape. I feel sooo very very bad for them.
  14. From my back yard, as I was sipping on coffee Friday morning contemplating the surf under a blue sky out front, I hear thunder and look behind me. This is what I saw;
  15. OMG this is absolutely horrible. These fires are no joke, must be seen to be believed. Taken from Zuma on Friday before total evac.
  16. For sure. I'd recommend them if it weren't for the price of accessories. The support is prompt and very good though. That little conversion set ran me $30 but I was very very very tired of the cup.
  17. Thank you sir. I was regretting getting such an advanced air brush as I used free points to get it. However I've grown to like it very much and am getting the hang of it. I keep it very clean and neat.
  18. Sure thing. I have a removable cup as Dave had mentioned.
  19. Nice info, thank you. I read some reviews on this conversion kit but actually spoke to some one using it. Based on that convo I bought it. I'm looking forward in trying it out once I get back into the swing of things.
  20. I most certainly will. Thanks for the info.
  21. Interesting info. What air pressure do you use for small detail and small volumes of paint?
  22. Hi, I just purchased a side feed conversion kit for my Harder and Steenbeck air brush. I got tired of spillage even with the cup cap on and not being able to see how much paint was left. Plus I can prep the paint in the side feed jar. A very well worth while upgrade. Here is what the kit looks like;
  23. Wow! Another wonderful gem of info. Thank you sir. This is indeed exciting! Makes me wanna open a scale model business just so I can use the machine, create models, etc... Looks really fun.
  24. Wow, now THIS is totally cool! I can see resin casters totally getting into this in supporting there business. Me personally, I can barely build a model kit and it takes me for ever to do it. So designing and printing a part is not realistic for me. Thanks for the video Monsignor!
  25. Hi, Well the interesting thing about this view point is that ppl still can't seem to print a photograph correctly as it's not as simple as it seems. Not to mention a seemingly benign task. Try and print something in 3D. I've tried, it's hard and time consuming. And lastly, in terms of predicting the future, do you remember the late 70's early 80's IBM commercial with Charlie Chaplin selling an 8088? "Welcome to the paperless office" Three years passes quickly and not a whole lot changes during that amount of time.
