  1. Hi, This is a beautiful kit! Looking forward to building OOB, maybe better wheels/tires. Got it super cheap!
  2. Hi, Even though this is not technically Eds kit, I will scratch build to complete in his name.
  3. Hi, I'm eagerly waiting for some exciting news, is it next Sunday?
  4. Hi, Yep, they are still active I correspond with em, takes about a week for an email resposne which is fine. They have epic paints. Congrats n the purchase.
  5. Hi, Looking a real nice. Should be spectacular when displayed.
  6. Hi, Been a bizzy and productive veeekend! I had to strip the chassis as I switched to lacquer which has a way diff work flow then acrylic, also redid the rivet decals a bit better. I'll paint the chassis same color as the tub. The body is pretty much final, giving it a few days to cure before deciding on additional coats. However I'm thinking 2-3 more coats. I sanded off the wiper from the windshield and am waiting for a PE set to arrive, also applied silver rivet decals around the side windows.
  7. Hi, Well, I stripped her yet again. I sprayed seeing orange peel and didn't stop thinking I could sand it away... NOT... I pretty much resigned myself to trying until I got it down, even if that meant I kill the body. Fortunately I didn't commit a 187 and am very happy with the results. I had to strip to the bone which was the correct process here. I'll wait mid week before applying decals and will leave it as is w/o dulling down the shine.
  8. Hi, Wow nice! Love it! I've the Penske version waiting to be built. I first read about it in MRRN a few months back of which I bought a CD having all the issues.
  9. I'd be thrilled with a decent paint job for Gods sake!
  10. Hi, Hmm, I see your points. Seems like specialization may be key here so companies like Round2 attract the rather large nostagia/classic/older car generation. Hell, all the more reason to bring back; - Astro 1 - Flying Dutcman - Charger III So sexy, so sexy.
  11. Hi, I think this is a good approach to have. And yep, I am going to buy that Round2 Cobra race team kit when available. I like what Round2 is doing.
  12. Hi, Wow these are all very very nice works!
  13. Hi, This is a very interesting thread. I wonder how the kit makers research demographics and potential sales. I don't think they target baby boomers as that group is least likely to spend money. The younger generations are more likely to spend and I wonder if they are able to find out what excites them/us/me? As far as cost cost, AAA video game titles run ~$50 and online subscriptions can run well over a hundy a year. So a $35 kit is not that big a deal as these costs are nothing to say genX and younger.
  14. Hi, Wow this is sooo killer. I doubt they will release this in a new tool or even re-release it. Sure would be nice though.
  15. Hi, Wow the Flying Dutchman kit is HOT!!!
  16. Hi, Wouldn't it be super cool if Round2 brought back the AMT Astro 1? Man what a beauty!
  17. Hi, Well, I personally think SuperClean is the best but the 99% IPA works very well as does Testors ELO. I've a full on stripping arsenal due to my rather lame model building skills. And I've soaked bodies for days in 99% IPA w/o issue.
  18. Hi, Of all places, I found it at a grocery store and a pharmacy.
  19. Hi, Wow you do really nice work!
  20. Hi, Welp, I'd suggest 99% alcohol. Lest we forget, I am the strip master ya know. A title I hope to one day be relieved of.

Hi, Wow this is a rally cool kit and your work is excellent.
  22. Hi, Try ELO as I love the stuff. Follow the directions though; Brush on Remove as you start to see the paint wrinkle
  23. Hi, Good idea, I will go grey first then. I built up inner stacks/venturies so that the stack from ScaleProdution will fit straight and true. The top of the engine is from a failed Fujimi Chaparral project. Thanks again for the nudge in the right direction. * Randy Ditton@Model Builders Warehouse carries ScaleProduction warez so I'd order the stacks from him.
  24. Hi, I filled in some sink marks/irregularities and darkened the panel lines. I'll forgo grey primer and go directly with the white primer as I've one of those lighted magnified dork head bands which work amazingly well. It help helps me catch a lot of stuff. PS BTW the Monogram Chappy has a very very nicely molded body. Sure a decent amount of clean up is needed but hey its an old kit. But man, what a sexy beast Chaparrals were and Monogram did a great job with there Daytona version. The wheels/tirws, in typical fashion of domestic kits, are horrid but that's easy to fix.
