  1. Hi, Why thank you sir, very nice of you to say. Painting exhaust tips white right now. Using regular old Rustoleum white primer (enamel) that I got for free so as not to waste the good stuff. Actually the Painters Touch Rusto is good stuff. Takes about 24 hours to fully cure being enamel and all. PS My only issue with Painters Touch Rustoleum is that the nozzles always clog. They sent me a pack of ~20 for free though.
  2. Hi, Ok I've spent many hours of surface prep getting it to a nice smooth sheen. I used Archer decals to simulate vents where the head lights went. After much testing on plastic spoons, I've chosen Tamiya flat red thinned with there lacquer as it looks and feels fab! Will apply tomorrow so wish me luck as I've stripped this body 4 times already and after much practice, I'm ready for the the prize fight. I've stripped the wheels 3 times and destroyed a set of Harolds beauties in the process But here they are, using Vallejo Liquid Gold thinned and airbrushed using Tamiya lacquer. It will not brush due to how bad a shape it's in. The pot is like syrup and Vallejo was supposed to send me a free replacement as they said it was old and bad when I bought it. But I made it work.
  3. Hi, Well the Modelers kit fetches a nice price on eBay. Something to consider now as if they do bring it back, then it would drive down the cost of current Modelers 2D kits. Actually I think you may be saying this in fact
  4. Hi Monsignor Bill! Thank you very much for the link, awesome I love it!!! And thank you for being such a great builder.
  5. Hi, Forgot to mention that I'm not crazy about the Fujimi reissued 2D tires as they are rounded. The Modelers looked more squared off. But at least with the resin HRM tires, one can easily sand them square. I've many the rubber tires which are hard to sand. I'm making it work but it's a bit of a bear. BTW the resin tires from HRM in general are very very nice, a joy to work with. In fact I am preferring resin tires over rubber now.
  6. Hi, Is that the slot kit from Professor Motor? It is nice indeed and the decals provided are also nice.
  7. Hi there, I frequent the MFH site day dreaming about there kits. However they no longer seem to offer 1/24. I do see 2-3 1/24 kits in there value line but nothing like what they had. Can any one shed some light on this or am I simply not looking carefully?
  8. Hi and thank you sirs. This site has really helped me with getting over my paint struggles; http://paulbudzik.com/index.html PS Swapping out my .2mm for a .6mm.
  9. Hi, This plugin for Firefox will allow you to view the images; https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/photobucket-embedded-fix/ For Chrome; https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/photobucket-embed-fix/naolkcpnnlofnnghnmfegnfnflicjjgj?hl=en
  10. Hi, As I'm finding about through reading and practice, smaller needles, say .2mm or less seem a bit inappropriate for painting 1/24 bodies and parts. The larger the needle, the less over spray I seem to have. What is the communities thoughts on this? I've a .15mm and a .2mm as well as a .4mm and the first 2 seem some what worthless. In fact I am contemplating getting a .6mm needle/nozzle/aircap set. Is this because I am inexperienced and will find them useful as I gather greater skill?
  11. Hi, Do you have a link to that build?
  12. Hi, If any one is interested, this is one of Eds kits. So PM me.
  13. Hi, Ah yes, too bad its not 1/24. Thanks guys! Looks like a hella nice kit.
  14. Hi, I'd like the communities help in identifying the pictured kit. Seems like an L&M Porsche 917/10 but unsure of the scale. Thanks very much in advance.
  15. Hi, I really like what you've done. Great execution for sure, and on a cool subject mater.
  16. Hi, Hawt Pantera, very very cool. I bought the Wolf version because it had number decals to make a sort of Gr.4 build from. But it's simply a GTS.
  17. Hi, Very clean and elegant. Love it.
  18. Hi, Wow, I think the paint looks brilliant. I struggle but am figuring it out I think.
  19. Hi, Wow, it looks really good!
  20. Hi, I'm tellin ya, if properly dried, as in a week or so, nothing is eating away at Vallejo. In fact it's a real bear to strip.
  21. Hi, Well I've painted lacquer based paints (Tamiya) over arcylics (Vallejo) w/o issue. I'd probably go on Tamiyas site for further clarification and even send them an email. There support is top rate.
  22. Hi, They seem pretty sweet; http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/search?typ1_c=101&cat=&state=&sold=0&sortid=0&searchkey=1%2f24+aoshima+mclaren Enigne etc...
  23. Hi, Thin for sure. There website says 2/3 paint to 1/3 thinner, either X20A or there lacquer thinner; https://www.tamiyausa.com/articles/thinning-paints-606#.WdQaoIqQyL8 I personally found that it varies from color to color. The biggest advice I can give being newb myself is to do a test spray as that's the ONLY way I've found a ratio that works for me. A fantastic site that I am really enjoying is; http://paulbudzik.com/index.html I think it will help me avoid becoming a paint strip master It could help you too.
  24. Hi, Wow this is super über dope!!! W0W!!! PS Perfect execution. Mad skillz for sure. Love the doggy.
