  1. Hi, Wow this looks very very cool. Super pro level and looks like you are having great fun with it.
  2. Hi, Actually I found plans for the 2J in MRRN; volume 2 issue 4. So I think that I'll be ok.
  3. Hi, Wow, holy smokes! http://www.profil24-models.com/model-kits-modeles-reduits/en/gamme-au-1-24e/257-jaguar-type-d-le-mans-1957.html Pretty darn nice!
  4. Hi, Would any one with a 1/24 Mini Exotics Chaparral 2J mind making an outline of the chassis and emailing it to me? If so, make it to where I can print it actual size so that it can be used as a pattern. Thank you very much in advance.
  5. Hi, I've the 2016 Revell GT and am super picky about wheels/tires. However you are right, they do look pretty good.
  6. Hi, Wow that's really cool as adjustable width would be awesome.
  7. Hi sir, True dat. Still, I'm unsure how it will look as I don;t have any 19" wheels/tires for test fitting. I know the actual size for the 1:1 car is 20". But the Revell kit is actually larger.
  8. Hi, A buddy of mine simply gave me a Revell 1/24 Ford GT snap kit, cool I'm very happy. Curious about something, the wheels seem huge and not really my style. Do you all think that I can get away with a 19" wheel/tire or would it not fill the fender correctly?
  9. Hi, Eh screw it, I made some ok pics now. Few things, I decided to save the engine for another build having an open trunk being a 308 Koenig. Its far too pretty of an engine to mostly hide. So I made my own top half only including using a center punch to flare out some tubing I cut. I also made little center venturis for the carbs. It will be obscured by the aluminum mesh you see pictured. I swapped the seat from spare parts of a Fujimi F40. I also added some aluminum tape to reflect some interior fromage. So far so good. Once I'm done with this, I'm going to dedicate the rest of the year for tribute build to my dear friend CrazyEd. But I simply MUST finish this Ferrari first.
  10. Hi and thank you sir. Funny, I was just working on it now. Man I got some kewl photos to post in the AM. Pretty happy so far.
  11. Hi, BTW I wasn't trying to minimize your experiences as they are very real and very valid. I'm hoping to encourage you to keep dealing with casters as some subject matter only exists in that medium.
  12. Hi, Well not all casters are created equal. HRM, RMoMD and ClearlyScale are amazing. I've also had great luck with Factory81 and USCP, they've great products. Also very special mention to Renaissance, Profile24 and LMM, all of which are French based and VERY VERY good. I've also had fantastic dealings with TwoCats and FPPM.
  13. Hi, I just recalled an old post here where a builder used a drawing compass. But instead of a pencil, they had a brush etc... One could mount a gel pen on it and try that, hmmmm. Check this out, only like ~$2. http://www.dickblick.com/products/maped-study-compass/
  14. Hi, A sexy beast! Love it!!!
  15. Hi, Hmm, not a bad idea Randy, pretty ingenious actually. Thanks for the tip.
  16. Hi, I noticed that when it comes to silver related colors, they seem to coat over darker ones w/o much issue. I think it may be because how pigment rich they are, unsure. But it would be easier to mask over red then silver.
  17. Hi, Wow, I thought it would be opposite were lacquer provides better adhesion than acrylic in general. I'm contemplating air brushing Vallejo vs rattle can Tamiya. Testing is in order.
  18. Hi, Nice idea, will do. It's time for me to get serious so I shall adapt this test technique. Thank you.
  19. Hi there, I'm about to embark on my first real masking for airbrush/spray can. I'm planning a red body with aluminum side skirts, air dam etc... Shall I paint the entire model red and mask to then paint over the certain red areas to be aluminum? Or visa versa meaning paint the entire car aluminum and then mask to paint most of it red? Also, is lacquer better then acrylic for masking? I'd hope to not pull paint of the body while removing the tape. I'll be using Tamiya yellow masking tape. But I also have there thin white tape as well. Thanks in advance.
  20. Hi, Yea, tell me about it. Funny how that works. Oh well, its about enjoyment and I'm certain you will get several $Benjamins of enjoyment from this project.
  21. Hi and thank you sir.
  22. Hi, Well, I don't wish to task his wife more then she already has been. Managing the kits and books as well as other things having more gravity are overwhelming enough. I'd suggest searching his old posts and using the Firefox or Chrome Photobucket extension to view.
  23. Hi, Has any one bought the 1/24 Tamiya Chaparral 2J slot kit by chance? Curious of your thoughts etc... Thanks in advance.
  24. Hi, Wow loving this. Very motivating!
